Experts: Palin Owes $25,000 In Back Taxes

Several tax experts said they believe Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin is required to pay federal taxes on $25,000 in reimbursements from the state of Alaska for her children's travel expenses.

The Alaska governor released her 2006 and 2007 tax returns on Friday, sparking a lively debate on tax blogs and among tax professionals over whether reimbursements and per-diem meal payments from the state should be subject to federal taxes. Since taking office in December 2006, Gov. Palin, whose state salary is $125,000 a year, received reimbursements totaling $43,500 for travel and lodging for her family in connection with state business. Of that total, $25,000 was for her children's travel and the rest was for her husband, Todd, the Washington Post reported.

The thing that I think is being lost here is some of the "Tax Experts" have said that Palin relied on the W2 that Alaska provided her in good faith in filing these taxes. Well if that is the case, I would say she has intentionally evaded paying income taxes. How so you may ask? Well if her W2 only had her Base Pay listed, she knowingly failed to claim the $17,000 in Per Diem she received...after all, she had to submit for those Per Diem payments. She was fully aware she received the money.

These payments were a source of Income, plain and simple and Sarah and Todd Palin failed to report them. They broke the Law. And they should be held accountable and they should be shown to be what they truly are, two Tax Cheats.

someone once said there are more stupid people than there are people, and I believe its true. we know MCCAIN AND PLAIN are both liars, McCain has become George Bush, and Palin is Cheney or worse. we know they will say anything, do anything to try to discredit Obama. Yet they only trail the Obama ticket by 6 points ( 49 to 43). That is sickening to me. It tells me many people just dont care what do or say. they can lie, cheat steal, no matter, they will still vote for them. It just doesn not make any sense...
