Mccain

McCain touts the economic prowess of, and suggests as a future Treasury Secretary Meg Whitman, the former CEO of eBay and someone who he has turned to for economic advice in the past. Normally, this is a solid point for McCain to press, highlighting entrepreneurship and the growth of female business leaders. The problem: eBay just announced that it was firing 10 percent of its work force.

If Mcain really knows how to get Bin Laden, why doesn't he tell the Bush administration?

Exactly. And if he knows how to win wars, why hasn't he told Dubya?

I was screaming at the screen when he said that, since I remember seeing a news flash on MSNBC about it earlier today, and I'm glad that the MSM picked up on it. If you think he was desparate before, "you ain't seen nothin' yet".

I don't think I could have been more disappointed in both of these guys tonight, neither would answer questions just like last time.

YES MCCAIN & OBAMA . . . THE ECONOMY IS GOING TO GET WORSE BEFORE IT GETS BETTER . . . GOVERNMENT ISN'T GOING TO CHANGE THAT.

We can handle the truth . . .

What do you expect from a guy that's always a couple of days behind in the news? Like when he said "the fundamentals of the economy are strong".

And Palin doesn't read evidently.

Wow big deal, guess what, times are tough and companies all over are trying to get more from less . . . it is called life.

Would she be a better CEO if they kept employees they could afford and started losing money?

No, just like most in power her ideas sucked and ebay has gone
down the tubes because of the companies greed. Ask anyone who sells or buys there.
She would have been a better CEO if she would have listened to customers or those employed.
Instead she was suckin on starbucks double mocha watchin sponge bob in her office
Ebay will be a thing of the past. Take your money to other auction sites!!

No, times were NOT tough for eBay when they switched from being a customer and partner-responsive corporation in the late-'90s into a greedy absentee-owner corporation in the early-'00s, when they were making profit hand over fist. To give you a little idea: eBay spent more than $5 BILLION in the first 5 years of the 2000s, buying up all kinds of related and unrelated companies (Butterfield & Butterfield, which they happily sold at a loss a couple of years later, PayPal, StubHub, a share of CraigsList, etc. -- and even $2.6 Billion for Skype, which has NOTHING to do with eBay's business model!) Any company who spends money like it's on fire and then gets rid of 10% of its employees soon thereafter is utterly mismanaged. Again: eBay makes a fortune off of user fees. It is in no way hurting; it made almost $8 billion last year. It is simply mismanaged.

Ask some of those 350,000 or so sellers that McCain talked about making a good living on Ebay. Ask them how they feel about Meg Whitman. She is reviled and hated. She made Ebay one of the most unpleasant places to not only sell, but also to shop. I could almost hear the collective shudder of horror across the country of those sellers as McCain mentioned her name.

It's funny to watch the Fixed News nuts blame the media again for McCain loss. Kristol and Fred Barnes are upset that the questions did not include same sex marriage, guns and abortion!! These lunatics are just unbelievable

I'm definitely with "McPalin" on this one: eBay is one of the most user-UNresponsive, bureaucratic, monolithic corporations I've ever had the displeasure of doing business through, and I've been a PowerSeller for over 8 years (and a buyer and seller for 11). If that's the managerial style that he wants to see in a Secretary of the Treasury, WE'RE DOOMED.

it appears that stress caused by living the lie have taken their toll on McCain. His behavior is just crazy bizarre.

The second he said that, I had to wonder just how out of touch McCain is. Unbelievable! And I don't think Meg would be a great find for a job that even I couldn't fathom having. It's enough that I can balance my check book and keep up, and McCain think's hiring her would be great?

Yes, he's out of touch. In more ways than one.
