Palin Criticizes Biden While He's At Mother-In-Law's Funeral

While the presidential campaign has taken a decidedly personal and vicious tilt these past few days, one individual who has generally been left out of the fray has been Sen. Joe Biden. That's because the Delaware Democrat has been off the trail bereaving the loss of his mother-in-law to a heart attack.

As such an informal detente has been in place when it comes to attacking him. But on Tuesday, Sarah Palin broke the truce.

Speaking to a rabid crowd in Florida, the Alaska Governor was set to focus her ire primarily on Barack Obama. And, for the most part, she did, arguing that he was associated with domestic terrorists, tied to the heads of evil Fannie Mae and dangerously committed to hosting summits of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Then, however, she let loose. "Will [Obama] now claim that his ticket doesn't define higher taxes as patriotic? Remember that's what Joe Biden had said. Will he claim that he has just learned now that tax increases on small businesses kill jobs?"

Certainly the Biden dig was much softer than those aimed at the head of the ticket. But with the Senator having been off the trail for the past several days, Palin surely was aware of the elements behind his absence. Whether she slipped up or this was deliberate is another matter.

Stereotype:
something conforming to a fixed or general pattern ; especially : a standardized mental picture that is held in common by members of a group and that represents an oversimplified opinion, prejudiced attitude, or uncritical judgment http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/stereotype[2]

Stop judging Florida based on preconceived ideas that aren't factual. All Floridians are exactly like the appalling Sheriff as all Tennesseans are rednecks, all Californians are crazy, all New Yorkers are rude...........

I'm from Florida (surprise!). I thought the Sheriff's behavior was unacceptable. I've called the Governor to tell him so. Many others have as well. Had it been a Sheriff in Ohio that did something so stupid I would not automatically assume that all Ohioans agree with him and call for a boycott.

A few more rants like this and I may get my blood pressure back down again. Folks, this one is close, way closer then I like. Let's model our behavior on Obama's and let the negative behavior slide.

I'll start. I'm sorry for snarling. I'm posting this because I think this is a valid point.

According to AFP, in September the "US shed 159,000 jobs, unemployment rate holds at 6.1%" and Palin/McCain are going to tell us its an Obama administration that will kill jobs?

Classless, truly classless.

For the record - Obama and Ayers were involved in a grant for Education, they sat on the same board and the grant was actually sponsered by ultra conservative Walter Annenberg. Ayers has actually received awards and accolades for his work on behalf of education. That is the entire story, no more, no less.

And let us not forget this grand old tradition was started by Senator Bob Dole, who attacked Bill Clinton on the day of his mother's funeral. A classy part all the way around.

The take on the Sheriff from state officials seems to be that Sherrif is a partisan elected job, which means political rallies are ok. I suggest we start petions to make the position of Sherrif an elected non-partisan office (no party affiliation). That, and I'm glad I don't live in Lee County, I'd have to remove all my yard signs.

Biden is no longer in mourning today. He looks like a happy camper. Is it OK if Palin goes after him now?

Wow, why are you at this website? You then wouldn't have to hear about compassion.

I'm with RButler on this. As grating as Palin is, the comment wasn't tageted as the typical Republican deragaotory idiotism-- just the regular partisan rhetoric. Interestingly, when McCain "suspended" his campaign for 2 seconds so he could single-handedly perform his "patriotic" duties and save the Wall St mess, one wonders if he thought the media should somehow have been in reverent suspended awe.

Oh c'mon. No one can be surprised by Palin's lack of empathy for Joe's loss. She only cares about her own blind ambitions and self-indulgence or she would have dropped herself off her party's ticket when it became apparent that she is over her head. Why on earth would we expect her to be empathic to Joe and his family and their loss?

The woman is crass. Period. Please, Alaska, come and get your mean and nasty governor.

Apparently Alaska doesn't want her anymore either, they just had two of the biggest rally's in the state's history and BOTH were anti palin rallies.

Not surprised at all. Palin has shown clearly in that she has no style, no class. How many jobs do McCain & Palinhave to show for the 7 years of tax cuts.

I know there have been jobgrowths in these seven years, but in India & China
