"The View" Gets Uglier: Barbara Can't Stop Elisabeth's Obama-Bashing

On Tuesday's "The View," the ladies followed up on a conversation/argument yesterday, in which Elisabeth Hasselbeck pushed Obama's radical views. Today, with Joy back, it was Elisabeth v. the other four as she continued to bring up and slam what she feels are Obama's shady acquaintances.

Preceding the clip below, Barbara called for a move away from gutter politics towards a discussion of what really matters. Elisabeth then kept talking about Obama's connection to Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers and Tony Rezko, called Wright a "hate-monger" and asked of Obama, "Are you a liar or do you have poor judgment?"

Soon after, Sherri jumped down Elisabeth's throat (as she sat expressionless) asking about McCain's first wife with, "can we talk about poor judgement?"

The argument escalated and Joy (celebrating her birthday today) pretended to get up and leave.

Elisabeth interjected, "When did this get personal? Wow. This is super personal," and she told Sherri to "relax."

Barbara again asked to no avail, "Can we stop slinging mud around?"

Elisabeth then brought up Obama and claimed Democrats pushed subprime loans, to which Joy called out, "You're listening to Sean Hannity too much!" With that, Whoopi quickly took the show to break.

I want to thank Elizabeth Hasselbeck! She seems to be the only lady on television these days that has grace, brains, is well read does her research and actually knows what she is talking about!!!!!

Elizabeth is well read? Honey, that girl hasn't read a book in years. She merely repeats FOX news talking pints. Bill Ayres was an anti-Vietnam activist in the 1960s. He has NEVER been convicted on anything, nor has his wife. He was named Chicago citizen of the year in 1997. He is a college professor and a foremost expert on education reform. Obama serve on a charity board with him, both appointed by noted Republican Walter Annenberg - a McCain supporter and an ambassador under Ronald Reagan. When Obama announced he was running for the Illinois State Senate, Ayres held a fundraiser because he thought Obama was a good guy and wanted to help him get elected. Ayres regrets the efforts of the weathermen were unable to stop the Vietnam war before 52,000 young Americans died there in another war we were lied into. There is no evidence linking Ayres to any terrorist act, merely to people who did commit acts of violence.

Barack Obama has denounced the violence used by the group Bill Ayres belonged to. He has never been a personal friend of Ayres or "palled" around with him.

Sarah Plain has given keynotes addresses and her husband has belonged to a group supporting Alaska secession from the USA. Her friends include racists, witch hunters and anti-Semites. She believes victims of rape should be forced to have their attacker's child. Sarah Palin is not acceptable even if she thinks exactly as you do.

As far as the view, I applaud Hasselbeck! She stands up for what she thinks, how is this any different from Whoopi and Joy standing up for what they believe? And in the Mr. Wright scenario, I have attended the same church for 10 years, I wouldn't be there if I didn't respect and believe in the sermons and doctrine that is taught. 19 years Obama was listening to the radical black racism taught by Mr. Wright.

I've almost completely stopped watching the View because of E. Hasselbeck who doesn't apparently know how to converse as an adult. Out-yelling everyone and interrupting people is nothing but obnoxious, infantile behavior. I was surprised Sherri Shepherd was able to get any comments into the conversation. Ms. Hasselbeck is merely repeating the talking points of the campaign, which has lead to rancor and poor polling. Her capacity for original thought appears gravely limited. I don't know anyone who agrees with a single party on ALL issues.

If she were in tune with the studio audience and the American people as a whole, she would find that people are interested in substantive issues. Addressing the needs of auto workers, homeowners, small businesses who need credit are paramount.
