Cindy

Cindy McCain, who has largely remained soft-spoken and optimistic during public appearances on her husband's behalf, has joined the attack dogs of the McCain campaign in recent days.

Just as McCain and Sarah Palin and prominent GOP supporters like Rudy Giuliani have stepped up their negative attacks on Obama this week, Cindy McCain took "one of her most personal shots yet at Barack Obama today" during a rally in Pennsylvania.

"The day that Sen. Obama cast a vote to not to fund my son when he was serving sent a cold chill through my body let me tell you," Cindy McCain said in introducing the GOP ticket. "I would suggest Sen. Obama change shoes with me for just one day. I suggest he take a day and go watch our men and women deploying."

In general, the McCains have avoided discussing their two sons' military service during the campaign. Younger son Jimmy McCain is a Marine who has already served a tour in Iraq. His brother, Jack, is at Annapolis.

Palin later invoked her own son's service overseas in suggesting that Obama did not understand the cost of war, comparing him unfavorably to McCain and his military heroism during Vietnam.

"God bless him, he spent five and a half years as a POW, and he knows the cost of war because he paid those costs himself," she said of McCain. "And as a mother of one of those troops, yup, that's exactly the kind of man I want as commander in chief."

And yesterday, Mrs. McCain made waves and stunned political observers when she stridently claimed that Obama had waged "the dirtiest campaign in American history."

Her newfound aggressiveness is obviously sanctioned by the campaign - a McCain aide said last night that the Republican nominee "wholeheartedly agrees with his wife's assessment."

Cindy McCain should be ashamed of herself to be leading such a hateful, ugly form of attack on a fellow American. Like her husband, she has no honor whatsoever.

...and she looks like a big lizard.

Poor Cindy is probably desperate by now. If McCain loses she might get beat up when his temper goes out of control again.

You hit the "nail on the head". Not only a lizard but, as someone mentioned, exactly like a setpford drone.

I see hate and venon vanished all over her face--and she lied. If she had the brin, she would have discovered that McCain also voted against a bill to fund the troops-- because it had a dateline for withdrawal, just as Obama voted for one because it didn't have such a timeline.

This is truly nauseating. Question: What do we call a MAN who sends women out into the streets, or campaign trail, to return with something of value, i.e. votes or money, ONLY FOR HIM? Hint: It rhymes with LIMP. McCain has reached the lowest of lows. How much more dishonorable can he become?

Shouldn't Cindy McCain be asking her husband John McCain first? This is his own son and based on his voting record concerning our military veterans which gave in a grade of D for his support for our troops and our veterans. I suggest Cindy do some reading and research and check her husband's voting if she's so concerned about American's supporting our military.

Voting Against Veterans

Veterans Groups Give McCain Failing Grades. In its most recent legislative ratings, the non-partisan Disabled American Veterans gave Sen. McCain a 20 percent rating for his voting record on veterans' issues. Similarly, the non-partisan Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America gave McCain a "D" grade for his poor voting record on veterans' issues, including McCain's votes against additional body armor for troops in combat and additional funding for PTSD and TBI screening and treatment.

McCain Voted At Least 28 Times Against Veterans' Benefits, Including Increased Funding for Veterans' Health Care

McCain Voted Against Providing Automatic Cost-of-Living Adjustments

McCain Voted to Underfund Department of Veterans Affairs

McCain Voted Against a $13 Billion Increase in Funding for Veterans

McCain Voted Against $44.3 Billion for Veterans Programs

McCain Opposed the 21st Century GI Bill Because It Was Too Generous

McCain Opposed Increasing Spending on TRICARE and Giving Greater Access to National Guard and Reservists

Senator McCain opposed efforts to end the overextension of the military--a policy that is having a devastating impact on our troops.

But this isn't the craziest thing she's said. What about Obama's vote "against funding the troops" sending cold chills through her on behalf of her son. He voted no because there was no time line to bring the troops (and her son) home!

I would be a little more "chilled" by my HUSBAND voting to NOT FUND the troops OR HIS OWN SON because there WAS A TIMELINE TO BRING HIM/THEM HOME.

This is just amazing - and sad that so many people believe it!

Now that McCain has let us all share Cindy's loving spirit, when is the first dude going to charm everyone with his insights and knowledge about how bad "that one" will be? And if I hear McCain say that he "always" puts his country first, I may shoot my TV if journalists continue to refuse to ask how he squares that with his radio advertisements for North Vietnam.

Wonder what Mrs. Bush and Mrs. Reagan are thinking about that mouthpiece Cindi. How unfirstladylike of her.

Mrs. Reagan was not a happy camper when McCain dumped his first wife for Cindy. She and the first wife were friends, and the latter was given a job in the Reagan administration. She is said to like and respect neither McCain nor the home-wrecker.

The saddest thing here is you couldn’t prove that Obama is having the dirtiest campaign because he isn’t. I watched Michelle Obama on Larry King last night and she only had wonderful things to say about people. That is class. The BS that the McCain/Palin ticket is beyond pathetic! We already are fully aware of how little McCain supports the troops, so it is no surprise they haven’t mentioned them having been in Iraq considering his bad track record when it comes to supporting our troops. No he just wants to send them to war, bring our country even more into debt all for one reason. To Win! Same reason his campaign is playing so dirty now.

Cindy McCain's claim that Obama has run the dirtiest campaign in history is so ridiculous, you know this woman has nothing intelligent to offer. To make such a claim shows her to be a vicious liar, or totally delusional, or perhaps both. Everyone - even the usuyally pro-McCain media- continue to report on the repeated lies, horrible attacks, and now, the inciting of violence by the McCain/Palin campaign.

I agree!

And her son has only served on one tour while others are up to 4 and 5 tours? Also while losing their homes, etc.. I bet he young McCain served his in the green zone ...

I have a friend who served in the Army and is fighting for medical attention and disability which is causing stress, migraines, etc. She was really disappointed / depressed when a vet who is also fighting for disability was refused and this guy is in a wheel chair with a really bad case of Parkinsons ~ they've denied him disability

Looks like home-wrecker Cindy McCain is doped on her med again. Hey Cindy do you know when people will ever vote for your 72 grandpa? When hell freezes over.
