http://tinyurl.com/3orkyq that is M. Dowds send up for a living legend and if you haven't got the chance to look at it you have to.

These guys today don't have a tenth of what 'the fast one" had. Hell even Montgomery Clift and Rock Hudson were more manly than this crop we have today.

But twelve bucks? I'm a person that had to quite Time and Newsweek b/c of our current times.

Request that all profits from the sale of this book be donated to Mr. Newman's favorite charities.
"...to publish a special book about an actor who devoted most of his own second act to the community, to sick kids, to others, and not make it even partially charitable smacks of desperation—a money grab at best, and a manipulative tabloid move at worst"

In America, we commodify everything and everyone. Newman was ethical; People is not. Newman deserves a more caring and thoughtful tribute, not a rushed job for commercial purposes.

(Hey, People, did you clear this with Joanne and will all the proceeds go to Newman's charities?)

Paul Newman was heroic. People magazine's regular issue featured a great tribute to this wonderful man. I think I will buy their special issue. Newman was a man for all seasons. After hearing Don Imus brag about his childrens' camp ad nauseum and Pitt with Jolie constantly announcing their donations to charity, Newman's quiet was refreshing. His real life in addition to his screen persona will make him one of the world's most enduring legends.
