It looks like Sarah Palin has traded in her schoolmarm hair for something a little more sexy: loose locks. Why the sudden switch?

Palin's hometown hairdresser, Jessica J. Steele of Wasilla's Beehive Beauty Shop, told The New York Times that the governor is very hair-aware.

"She's very involved in her look and how she's perceived," Mrs. Steele said. "We would talk a lot about how if she looked too pretty or too sexy, people wouldn't listen to her. How important it was for people to see her as an intelligent, smart woman. It was comical when her hair was down, how big a difference that would make, especially when she was running for governor."

So what kind of effect will wearing her hair down have now? Could this be a last-ditch effort to boost her sagging popularity?

I'm not interested in Sarah Palin's hair style. I am interested in her honesty and her character. Whatever happened to the Associated Press investigation of her term as mayor. She claimed she was anti-establishment but it shows she WAS the establishment. She sought and received "favors" that aided her business. Sought and received a no sales tax on snow machines when her husband sold snow machines. Sought and received zoning exceptions for herself and her friends. Failed to tear down a garage that was a fire hazard to a neighbor's home when she received zoning exceptions for a house they were selling. Her "sounds good to me" should be looked upon with question. Thanks for letting a woman vent. I sure don't want her in the White House.

It is so sad that because Sara Palin is a woman, we all find the need to analyze such meaningless characteristics such as hair styles to decide whether or not she has a hidden motive to win this campaign. I say, anyone who is shallow and immature enough to decide on a president/vice president based on "how they sound or whether or not they "look presidential" should not even be allowed to vote. There are too many other important characteristics we should be considering, experience, honesty, intelligence, national security, foreign policy and economic policy experience and know how and the list goes on.

Let's be honest. There's not really anything else to go off of. We're dealing with a person with any substance here. She makes W. actually look competent. Really, when I see Bush on tv after Gov. Nitwit, I actually feel as if I'm watching a legitimate figure. Amazing in its own right. If she's the repub. answer for the future, I think we can all rest easy.
