The Atlantic:

The Obama campaign's top two field generals have decamped to Florida, a sign of its confidence that the state, with 27 electoral votes, is tilting toward the Democratic candidate.

Steve Hildebrand, the deputy campaign manager, will oversee operations from Miami, and Paul Tewes, the chief general election strategist, will help supervise the get-out-the-vote program from the campaign's state headquarters in Tampa.

The thing I worry about is overconfidence. Remember it was just a very few weeks ago that we were so scared that the Palin-trick was winning. Now, they're throwing the 'kitchen-sink' at Obama and we need to be careful!

It's not over until it's over - we still need to vote (in enormous numbers) and the votes still need to be counted (hopefully truthfully).

I won't breath easily until Barack Obama is declared the winner on November 4th! There is still 25 days left and the McCain campaign is getting desperate.

McCain was never a serious threat IMHO, but what's with the "no tie" thing with Obama?

I have a feeling it will take a few days to finally find out that our new President is Obama

it will be another Gore/Bush deal

Obama can't be everywhere at once. Being proven a brilliant campaigner, he probably knows exactly where he stands in every state and will choose his surrogates wisely. I have the greatest confidence in this man. Strange, but I felt it as he stepped to the podium to make Kerry's keynote speech in 2004. He exudes strength. innate wisdom and confidence - and I believe them to be very real. Obama seems a man that is very easy in his own skin. Such an amazing man.

Help me take the fight to McCain! Let's turn a negative into a positive by turning one of McCain's --- well, let's give him the benefit of the doubt and call it a "gaffe" --- into a positive slogan for Obama:

This one is voting for THAT ONE!

A portion of any proceeds will go to the Obama campaign or the Democratic National Convention.

What they need to be keeping an eye on is the integrity of the voting process. Stories elsewhere on HuffPo about purging of rolls, suppression and intimidation are on the rise.

Obama needs to get his butt down here. The voters here need to see him. He can send all the generals he wants. In Florida, surrogates and generals aren't going to cut it. He couldn't campaign here in the primary because of the rules. He has some ground to make up. I hope it's soon before he loses the lead.

Obama has visited Florida about 10 times after the primaries. What is your problem?

I don't have a problem, what's yours? He went to a synagogue in Boca, spoke in Daytona and had a $1000 a plate fundraiser in Miami. Most voters can't afford $1000 a plate dinners. I am talking about a mega rally. Historically, every presidential candidate has a rally in a big venue. His visits in the south were right after the Hillary debacle was over and people here were still very raw from that. This was BIG Hillary territory. He needs South Florida to win the state.

McCain is leading Obama in Oklahoma 66 to 29.

*adds Oklahoma to the list of states to never set foot in*

Interesting how they keep voting Republican, yet the residents of Oklahoma are ranked 44th out of 50 in median income for the nation. Yeah... that's really working out well for them huh?

They are only ahead of:

Kentucky
Alabama
West Virginia
Louisiana
Arkansas
Mississippi

See anything similar among those states?

Wow. Great point. That's a point the democrats need to be making to those states. They seem to be getting the message in West Virginia.

Republicans in the south will cut their own throats as long as gays down the block don't form a union, and nobody gets an abortion.

For the past 7 years my brother and I could not talk politics. He said he thinks they are all "whores" and believed that none was any better than another. Well, an hour and a half before the registration for voting ended here in Florida on Monday, he called me up to find out where he needed to go to register to vote. I told him to pick me up and I would show him. He is registered. He is going to vote for Obama. Halleluiah!

A friend of mine in Ohio is a physician in a highly specialized practice with 30 other doctors. Obviously they make over 250k per year. My friend tells me that 80% of the group are so fed up with what's happening, that they're voting for Obama! Even though they know that their taxes will go up, they realize they stand to lose a great deal more if another republican gets in, especially "that one," excuse me, I meant to say McCain...

Uhm, Obama is sending the big dogs down to FL. Hillary, Bill, Gore and some more big wigs will camp out there. Wesley Clark has been there on a few occasions as well. A lot of his surrogates were campaigning under the radar. I would love to see Chelsea make a surprise visit to one of the colleges. Florida, please stand up and deliver FL for the dems. You guys in FL have got to hammer the social security, medicare & health care issues, not to even mention their pension. SENIORS please wake up, this is everything you care about.

McBush AKA Mc L i a r and his side kick and VP choice Sarah McBlunder and his gang of thugs are gonna hit us with everything they have this month! We need to flood Obama's campaign through the home stretch with as much money as we can give through October. Let's get energized people and show McBush how strong we really are! We all started very strong and now we all have to pick up even more steam and finish what we started, our families and our soldiers are counting on us to fight the good fight to the end! Let's start making this about the Economy, Health Care, Equal Pay, Education, Etc and we will win this Election! Keep donating and volunteering. Like I said my family and I have donated a $150 dollars and we do this every month, even my thirteen year old daughter and my seven year old daughter are engaged in this Election and have took money out of their piggy banks to help invest into a better future for not just them but for everyone that believes in Fairness, Justice, Equality and Hope in America. I've always told my children this when they started school, you always start strong and you always end strong. Obama/Biden/08

Pass this along to ten other people.
