Peter Cook Gives Interview, Blames Christie Brinkley

Three months after their bitter divorce was settled, Christie Brinkley's ex-husband Peter Cook says he was wrongly portrayed in court.

"I'm not the ... pervert that I've been painted to be," Cook tells Barbara Walters in an interview that will air Friday on ABC's 20/20.

Asked why he was speaking out now, Cook, 49, who admitted to having an affair with an 18-year-old assistant and an online pornography habit, tells Walters, "The misinformation that came out during the trial is the elephant in the room. It's the elephant in the room for my kids."

During the marriage, he says, "I wanted a little acknowledgement, a little attention, a little thank you every now and then for my efforts, for the amount of time I took to care for her and my family, for the wealth I was building. Just the tremendous amount of work I was putting into my family. ... My world became her world. It had to be that way."

I have heard this on so many occassions that extremely beautiful women are terrible in bed. Because they never had to be good in bed. That is why most of them are called trophy wifes. That is what her third marriage and they all keep ending badly and some point and time she needs to look in the mirror and ask how did I contribute to this and stop trying to be a victim all the time.

I blame her for picking this guy for his looks without realizing that his character wasn't as pretty as his face.

I have a feeling that too many women have let him get away with too many things because of his looks.

Now he doesn't understand why his magic cutie power has suddenly stopped working and he's being held just as accountable for his actions as any fat bald guy in the world.

It must be her fault. That's his only explanation. That says a lot.

Oh, Boo-Hoo. I am so sick of men blaming infidelity on their wives not paying enough attention to them. What, we are supposed to run a household, raise kids, have a job or career etc? We need help from the men not the other way around. You are supposed to be a partner not another child. I am pretty sure Cook enjoyed the income coming into the household. What a loser.

You're now a man....or a husband. Fact...the majority of married women forget they are married....they think they have a roommate. This is the basic reason why men cheat....I know you want to blame men for it all.....but just being honest. Besides this is her 4th marriage...
