Voters' Debate Reaction: Negative Campaigning Backfires

A moving graph at the bottom of the CNN screen during Tuesday night's presidential debate measured the reactions of uncommitted voters in the swing state of Ohio, and it seemed to bear out the theory that negative campaigning draws negative voter reactions.

Nearly every time one candidate threw a jab at the other, the voter reaction dipped measurably.

Unbelievably, McPalin is still at it: "McCain Agrees With Supporter's Frenzied Rant About Obama as "hooligan" ", and "McCain, Palin discuss Ayres with Hannity, Greta (Video)"

McSame's "turning the page on America's economic crisis" can only be done if he is successful in forcing OBAMA to turn the page to non-issues. America demands that he who would be president proclaim, "Thanks, but no thanks to that BRIDGE TO NOWHERE!" After all, it is the economy, stupid.

CNN just said George Herbert Walker Bush, where is the outrage, they said his whole name. We should boycott the station.

What in the world is going on with Sen Mc cain? He's nothing like the JMC of 2000....his tactics are those of a low-down dirty republican....he's not a maverick!

Bottom Line: Based on his background, if Obama were anything BUT B!ack, he would not be running for president today.

This guy could not even aquire the same level of clearance as the secret service men and women who may one day be assigned to him.

only three people - THREE - got worse grades than McKKK at the Naval Academy. Using your type of logic, we shouldn't let McKKK be in charge of anything...except maybe the people in the corner wearing pointy hats

Since when is a Harvard grad attorney, former State Senator, and U.S. Senator who is married to the same woman, has two children, one home, one car, and is a best selling author and gifted orator someone we would look down upon? It seems to me that someone who was a poor Navy academy student, failed pilot, long-term U.S. Senator who committed adultery to marry a rich heiress and engaged in FACTUALLY PROVEN influence for campaign funds misdeeds in a S&L fiasco that mirrors the crisis we are experiencing today (which he failed to prevent with his "experience" in this area) has a lot more in his background to criticize and be wary of than his opponent. Obama has the integrity and character to be an outstanding leader of this Nation. Voters understand that there are many people in academia, politics and in our everday lives who have colorful or even dark pasts. We are a Nation that generally believes in redemption, rehabilitation and forgiveness. Obama owes no apology for the deeds of people who he has met or worked with during his career. Obama can only be held accountable for his own deeds. If there were any evidence of Obama's OWN misdeeds, then HRC would be our nominee. Does anyone seriously believe that HRC did not turn over every stone to learn whether there was any EVIDENCE to be held against this man? Be real.

He was a great pilot too. He only crashed 5 of them while he was the pilot in command.

Oh, this will be great on Nov. 4, when Obama wins in a landslide!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:14 PM on 10/09/2008

He is going to win you know, to many people don't want to discuss the issues, his supporters focus on things like McCain saying "that one", but not the fact that Obama did vote for the Cheney Energy bill. I will not vote for him, I'm going third party, it will be the first time I don't support my party's nominee, but I'm under no illusion that he isn't going to win. Maybe when he has his 30 minutes of air time, he can explain why he voted for FISA, or is now for drilling. I can't believe this man is the best my former party can do. Oh well, my state has a great man running for the DFL Senate seat, I can console myself with that. My opinion is that anyone in the House or Senate who stood by and watched George Bush destroy our economy doesn't deserve to be in office, and they certainly don't deserve to be President. What did Obama do as a Senator to help us.......crickets chirping!

do "we the people" get to demand that a portion if that $700B bailout go to increase the budget for Secret Service detail for President and Mrs. Obama? As the number of true blue racists are getting flushed out I'm afraid to say they...we...are going to need it. Heaven help us.

Not only is the mcSoul-less campaign tanking with their hideous tactics here in the U.S., apparently the rest of the world wants to see them disappear, as well!

Check out The Economist's World Electoral College vote...how the world would vote if they could pick our president. Click on each country (I think only Macedonia and Turkey are for mcKook) and see the percentages...amazing. It's not scientific, but still...

This is serious. I've been watching MSNBC and CNN and all I hear and see are McCain/Palin's false allegations OVER and OVER and OVER. Okay, guys. We can sit here and preach to the choir or do something about this. I suggest we, en masse, bombard MSNBC, CNN and, yes, even Fix News to STOP this nonesense. Or, at the verrrrry least, to bring up the Keating Five, McCain's ex-campaign guy, the one who was receiving $15,000 a month while working for McCain. Why aren't we getting un-biased information? Why are we just seeing McCain and Palin and snippets of Obama? Why aren't we seeing Biden much, much more? If we wanted to see Palin, we could go to the Republican circus tent. We don't need to see her on TV every few minutes, do we? Let's not forget the old saying: "ANY publicity is GOOD publicity." Let's not look back and go..." We should of done more" if we lose. We should begin emailing every station we can think of threaten to boycott not only their station, but also their sponsors. And also send cc's to their sponsors that we're sick of this one-sided circus media show. Liberal media...yeah, right....a rat's intestines is more liberal.

I'm watching the market tank and all I can think is that we need a real leader. Obama is the only one that fits the bill. McCain has never shown me anything to indicate he might be able to lead this country. He can't even lead his own campaign in an effective manner, and he thinks he can lead a country? Please don't cite his "POW" experience as proof that he's a leader. After reading the Rolling Stone article dealing with his history I tend to believe it is one of the most overblown stories in politics.

What has Obama done in the Senate for the past two years to try to prevent this from happening. What legilation did he introduce to try to help. We know he took a lot of money from Frannie and Freddy, but what else! The best leader for us apparently isn't on the ballet, because these two aren't it.

Dems, Go online, get on the phone, make sure you are registered to vote. Do it now, and help your friends and family do it as well, while there is still some time to do something about it. NOW. Voter rolls are getting purged all over the place. If someone knows the websites, please post them here.
