ABC:

Despite pledges by President George W. Bush and American intelligence officials to the contrary, hundreds of US citizens overseas have been eavesdropped on as they called friends and family back home, according to two former military intercept operators who worked at the giant National Security Agency (NSA) center in Fort Gordon, Georgia.
Intercept operators allege the NSA is listening to citizens' phone calls.

"These were just really everyday, average, ordinary Americans who happened to be in the Middle East, in our area of intercept and happened to be making these phone calls on satellite phones," said Adrienne Kinne, a 31-year old US Army Reserves Arab linguist assigned to a special military program at the NSA's Back Hall at Fort Gordon from November 2001 to 2003.

Kinne described the contents of the calls as "personal, private things with Americans who are not in any way, shape or form associated with anything to do with terrorism."

Nothing East Germany wouldn't have done.

Is anyone listening to the phone calls of the listeners? Fair is fair.

Most people probably don't know that the NSA's original charter exclusively FORBID them from intelligence gathering within the United States. Of course, Bu$h had to break down that barrier.

Freedom is a joke.

This is why we have a court grant wiretapping permission. So we can be the freaks that we really are without government intervention. These calls are supposed to be 2 way phone sex. Not 3 way or 4 way or Me, You and all of the FBI.

We all knew this was one of the purpose of the NSA wire tapping the other is to listen on financial deals people may be making or proposing to get in on the ground floor. frankly the NSA domestic spying on Americans has nothing to do with terrorism but has everything to do with pure power and greed.
