I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Why

Greg Sargent noted on Wednesday how the McCain campaign seems to want it both ways when it comes to using William Ayers as a campaign issue. After suggesting that it was "off the table" and that it couldn't compete with economic issues, the campaign has dispatched Sarah Palin to make repeated references to Ayers.

Now it appears, however, that the campaign is coming down firmly on the "pro" side of whether or not to use Ayers as an issue -- with the release of a 90-second ad titled, simply, "Ayers." Produced exclusively for the web, it appears designed to fight with the economic crisis for cable news coverage.

Somewhat humorously, the new web ad tries to make the case that "Ayers isn't the issue," but rather Obama's honesty in describing Ayers as someone from his neighborhood.

"When their relationship became an issue, Obama just responded, "This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood.'," the ad notes, before asking, incredulously: "That's it?"

At the spot's close, it repeats the charge that Obama has somehow only ever described Ayers as someone from his neighborhood. "When Obama just says, 'This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood.' Americans say, 'Where's the truth, Barack?'"

Well, as it happens, the "neighborhood" line was not all Obama said about Ayers at the time of the quote used in McCain's new ad. In response to a question from ABC News' George Stephanopolous, Obama described Ayers's past acts as "detestable" in almost the same breath.

Why don't you pay for this 90 second spot in all the battleground states, and the red states you're already behind in...

Oh, because you don't have any money,

Good luck with that!
I'm watching two minute Obama spots all night long, as Virginia turns Deep Blue.

This is a discredited point. Obama has to come up with equally outrageous ad to share the media coverage. I am not worried about it.

low information voters will eat this stuff up like a spicy jerry springer show. All we can do is hope they don't actually vote. Pray for a WWF big match playing on the night of the election.

McCain is just an old grumpy man who cant believe he is about to lose the last shot of his life, ever. Whats worse, is that he is losing to some young first timer who wasn't known until a few years back, he is going to wake up on 11/04 and realize that he is officially out. His naive attack dog aka pale-in just wrote herself off- the biggest disgrace to women all over the world. Its worse she calls herself christian.
McCain should suspend his campaign and declare Obama the winner, lol.

I don't trust YOU John McCain. I don't know who YOU are. You don't think like I do. There is nothing you can do to redeem yourself.

Cindy McCain calls Obama's the "dirtiest campain in history".

Obama may have bought a $3 million projector.

But McCain is married to a $100 million projector.

Now...

Let us reflect on the gift that Sarah Palin has given us all:

Cindy McCain is just afraid of the serious post-election beat up she will get on Nov, 4th - it's an outcry for help

The projector is for the planetarium in the museum, the most popular attraction for children.
Anyone who has been to a planetarium has most likely noticed the large object in the middle that rises as the show begins, typically a large sphere in shape. That is the "projector" and as you can
imagine, they don't come cheap. All the while, the planetarium encourages children to make a trip to the museum. We already know that John McCain doesn't want to educate young children about sexual predators. Now we know that John McCain doesn't went to inspire children about science through education. Hmmm. No science, no museums, no protection from sexual predators.
Sounds like my kind of president.................................

Anyone with any intelligence would consider these issues disturbing and would want a candidate of either party to be accountable for their actions. It is your duty as a voter to demand full disclosure for any candidate seeking to be elected. Obama has been less than honest with these issues which tells me he doesn't want you to know the truth and thinks you are too stupid to find out for yourself. He obviously feels they are less than honorable associations or he would be more forthcoming with the facts. If any of you have ever followed an election before this is what happens as the campaigns wind down. Believe me if there is anything questionabe about John McCain you will hear about it from the Obama camp. Wake up and stop listening to campaign ads and do some fact checking on your own through unbiased sources.

I'd like to know why Leonore Annenberg hasn't been in.vestigated...she promoted Ayers to her board.

She is the worst of col.laborators. She is an over-educated, elitist snob.

She was never a hockey mom.

She cavorts with ter.rorists.

Even her name is un American and fore.ign sounding.

Why is she out roaming around en-dangering America more - who knows what beas.tly new ter.rorists she is financing?

America does not need her kind of people....

I agree on most points - but seriously, which name is really sounding American? You are all descendents of immigrants ;-)

The issue itself is distrubing and accountability is essential.

Your error is the lack of critical investigation and analysis that you so quickly attach to Obama's supporters. If you do some "fact checking on your own through unbiased sources" you know that Obama acknowledges a lot more than that Ayers lives in the neighborhood.

He met him originally as a professor (Ayers, that is) of education at the University of Illinois; he served with him on the board of the educational foundation funded through an Annenberg grant; Ayers has supported him (Obama) particularly in connection with his commitment to education issues; Obama has rebuked, in clear language, Ayers' past activities and associations which, of course, are from a time that Barack Obama is familiar with as a matter of history, since he was then 7 +/- years old.

Ayers (unrelated to Obama) has been commended by the city of Chicago and others for his service to the community and state.

When it comes to character, McCain (and Palin) have a lot more to answer for -- and apparently can't, by the way -- than Barack Obama. Not the least of McCain's moral indifference is his call for a "respectful" campaign that he is most guilty of dishonoring. The "Keating Five" was no mistake; this is who John McCain really is.

Speaking of honesty, when will John McCain come clean with the American public about his health? Why is John McCain keeping his medical records hidden from the public? How can we trust a candidate who will not level with the American people?

This is an issue of trust. In these dire economic times, John McCain should prove that at least physically, he is prepared to serve. Until John McCain's medical records are released, he should be considered disqualified as a credible candidate.

No major corporation would hire a 72 year old man with his medical history without extensive probing of his past and current medical condition. Why should we?

All of this fox news propaganda is repulsive. This is sad. I really feel sorry for Mr. Ayers. I feel horrible that the republicans are trashing this man's life just to take a vote from Obama. Is this really how you treat people. And these republicans always profess to be such wonderful christians. Christians with that mob mentality, just like in Jesus's time.

NOONE BROUGHT IT UP???

Who are you - Rip Van WInkle?

Its been done to death, explained, reported, analysed until we are sick of it.#

I bet the Republicans who served on the Board concerned are sick of it too

I bet Anneneberg is also sick of it

Find a real issue to argue - there are plenty around - housing, health, education, the economy, and so on, where many folks still have genuine questions to ask
