Palin Says Obama Would Diminish "The Prestige Of The United States Presidency"

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin attacked Barack Obama Thursday for not being honest about his association with 1960's radical William Ayers.

"Barack Obama hasn't told the American people the total truth about that, about his association with Ayers," Palin said on conservative radio host Laura Ingraham's show. "Doggonit he fails to tell the American people with candor and with truthfulness what his associations are and we have to know."

Palin blamed the media for not providing what she characterized as the same level of scrutiny to Obama that it has applied to her and running mate John McCain.

"I don't see the other ticket being asked to be truthful and give details," Palin said.

"Some in the mainstream media are saying that well we're taking the gloves off unfairly. No. You know there are only, what, 26 days to go. We gotta start getting answers to these questions that are paramount here so that voters have a choice in front of them that is based on truthfulness and candor. They deserve it."

The Alaska governor told Ingraham's listeners that if those questions were being answered, voters would find Obama "out of the mainstream," adding that the Illinois senator would diminish "the prestige of the United States presidency."

How prescient you are. How did you know America had room for one more rabble-rousing fear and hatred merchant? Most of us thought that was out with David Duke and Pat Buchanan, out with the need for marches protesting whites-only policies.

You've shown us that prejudice is universal; not confined to the American South anymore (most of whom wish we'd stop talking about it, so they could try to forget that era).

Seriously, Sarah: If Barack Obama has less gravitas and personal integrity than your running mate, then the sun will not rise tomorrow morning.

What a shill! Believe me, after Bush anyone or anything could not diminish the prestige of the Whitehouse. It has already been diminished right into the ground. Even the election of her running mate wouldn't diminish it but of course it wouldn't improve it either. Senator Obama is what the Whitehouse needs to recapture some of its prestige, some of its moral and ethical spirit. Why doesn't the dear little thing mention that Ayers' bad time occured when Obama was 8 years old? That by the time Obama had any minor association with him he had totally reformed and is now a learned member of US Academia, well thought of and well quoted. That any association between the senator and Professor Ayers was related to charitable organization. Is that too much to ask?
