Members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals will stage a protest today outside designer Giorgio Armani's store on North Michigan Avenue.

The protest will feature video footage that PETA said documents two undercover investigations at rabbit fur farms in China and France, both of which are Armani suppliers, according to PETA's Web site.

The video will be narrated by actress Gillian Anderson, a Chicago native and DePaul University alumna.

The protest will begin at noon outside the store at North Michigan and East Chicago Avenues.

Most people who support PETA don't realize they are AGAINST people owning cats and dogs as pets. Yes all your animal lovers PETA is against your pets.

They also are against ALL medical testing - most drugs and treatments have been animal tested. If you are taking ANY medication - you can't be against PETA period.

I'm against puppy mills and animal abuse but PETA is an extremist organization.

I am not a member of PETA, but I find your comment just a little difficult to believe. Can you please provide a link to something that supports your contention that "PETA is against your pets"?

I feel relatively certain that they would have no issues with you going down to the local animal shelter and rescuing a dog or cat from certain death.

BTW - You forgot to mention cosmetics testing. If you use make-up, you are FOR animal torture!

Not true. There are many cosmetic companies that don't test on animals. MAC and Aveda are two off the cuff.

There was a whole episode of of BULLSHIT on Showtime dedicated to PETA.

It also showed that high up people in their company take medications tested on animals. Total hypocrites.

I do not see tha PETA also extends the protection to the lowly city rat. That cute little one that bears no hate for humans, but humans seek to kill in large numbers. If PETA is for real then should they not also help our city rats live, or is PETA just a joke of rich folks doing their silly thing. Why only animals, why not other forms of life. The fly needs protection as well.

FYI - flies *are* animals.

That's a myth. While PETA states that they wish pet ownership had never started up, it's only because of the suffering and overpopulation that has been caused because of it. They have nothing against people having animal companions, and only seek to eliminate cruelty to pets and overpopulation of pets through spaying and neutering.

Yes prove it - where does Peta say owning pets is ok?

There, you can read all about what PETA themselves have to say about their stance on companion animals. I'm sure you'll say that they're lying, for some unknown reason-- that they're ashamed of their beliefs in animal rights or something-- but that is where they stand. They have no reason to lie about it.
