It shouldn't come as a surprise that Sarah Palin received wild applause when she told a heckler Monday "You know, bless your heart sir. My son's over in Iraq, fighting for your right to protest right now." Boom, bam, slam! A sliver of ammo for conservatives who are still praying that Palin won't go down as a total joke in the annals of vice presidential candidates.

One thing that was lost in the glee over Palin's slam at the fat, long-haired... dare I say "hippie" heckler... is that Palin has show over the past week that she has sunk to his level.
