Britney Speaks: "What The Hell Was I Thinking?" (VIDEO)

NEW YORK - If you're wondering what was going through Britney Spears' head during her erratic era, you are not alone _ so does she.

"I sit there and I look back and I'm like, 'I'm a smart person. What the hell was I thinking?'" Spears said in an interview to air on MTV on Nov. 30, two days before the release of her new album. "I've been through a lot in the past two or three years, and there's a lot that people don't know."
The 90-minute special, "Britney: For The Record," was executive-produced by Spears' manager Larry Rudolph. It features behind-the-scenes footage of the singer and her talking about her life over the past two years.

She's got a lot to talk about: In that time span, she has gotten divorced, been through a custody battle, gone to rehab, had very public meltdowns and had one memorably bad performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Now on the comeback trail, Spears is releasing her sixth album, "Circus," on Dec. 2, her 27th birthday.

Spears says she's hoping this TV special will "set the record straight" about her life.

I hope she makes a great comeback. I feel incredibly sorry for her.

since she was sixteen years old she has been chased by packs of fully grown (physically anyway) adult men who for some reason only have to have a camera around their neck to avoid being arrested for stalking.

this behaviour is experienced by most youth.........no big deal.
The difference is, she is young, beautiful.very rich, and fu-ked up in public............the elders prefer to not know/see this stuff, lest their own progeny might be curious.
We all did it.....it didn't kill most of us.

That is it Britney....you weren't thinking. That low life Mgr. was feeding you drugs and who knows what else. Everytime you went out, even in the morning you had taken something that he said you needed.

I watched a program you were on (e-ent) or something and it showed you leaving with 2 or 3 popular
rap singers.....The next nite you were on MTV awards and that is when you looked like you had been
drug thru one "helluva" nite before.

Try to stay off drugs and change the people you used to run with who were a lot more experienced than
you were. You learned a lot in a very naive way.
Glad you learned from your past 3 lousy years. Chalk them up to experience and don't look back and
more importantly "don't go back"

Put me down as not interested. Why this gal continues to get the news she does and is allowed to make more music even though she doesn't have a lick of singing ability is beyond me. Her awards at the MTV awards were a complete joke. Her album tanked and she had no memorable singles yet she wins awards? She couldn't win an award back when she was popular, yet pulls out two or three wins after the year she had? Obviously MTV is orchestrating her come-back because it's in their best interested to have her popular again.
