Former Republican Governor of Michigan William Milliken tells the Grand Rapids Press that he's "disappointed" in John McCain and the campaign he is running:

He endorsed John McCain in the presidential primary, but now former Republican Gov. William Milliken is expressing doubts about his party's nominee.

"He is not the McCain I endorsed," said Milliken, reached at his Traverse City home Thursday. "He keeps saying, 'Who is Barack Obama?' I would ask the question, 'Who is John McCain?' because his campaign has become rather disappointing to me.

"I'm disappointed in the tenor and the personal attacks on the part of the McCain campaign, when he ought to be talking about the issues."

Sorry, Gov. You guys can't win on the issues -- never could, still can't.

I hope everyone understands that this will be a long fight. Endorsement of politicians is nice but the real message we need to send to Washington is that the days of complacency are over. I am encouraged by the record registrations. We need to let them know you are paying attention. Head to those battleground states. We need to win this election with big numbers to let Washington know they went to far and now we plan to get involved and stay involved.

Why doesn't Obama have these GOP deserter show up with him at his events the same way Lieberman always by mcCain side giving credibility to his false claim of a "uniter". Zen Miller impact was big in 2004 when he threw his support at Bush and attacked Kerry.

If anything, when these GOP guys speak at Obama events, they can reaussure undecided and at the same time take some energy and enthiusiam away from the McCain campaign.

After watching the McCain/Palin rallies I fear history may be repeated. Next they will burn the Reichstag and blame the opposition.

I know there are a lot of former 2000 McCain supporters, like me, who feel the same way. Somehow he learned the wrong lesson from South Carolina. For him, it apparently was "if you can't beat them, hire them".

At least John McCain still has Bill Clinton to vouch for him.

Hello to all commentators,

All the commercials, pundits, gaffes, personal attacks, and the MSM will not dictate the outcome of this election. THE GROUND GAME IS WHERE ELECTIONS ARE WON, AND LOST!

Before you go to the next left leaning article to comment on, or right leaning article to start an argument with a repug (which will no doubt end with them calling you an unpatriotic socialist wimp) I suggest that you get in the game.

Take a look. It is a lot of fun, and very satisfying to get involved. You will really feel as though you are making a difference.

Thanks Craig

I think all the ads in magazine and commercials on tv from now on should have interracial couples or nonwhites promoting whatever is being sold. Subliminal messages could be the way to educate them.

These video's show marginally educated, totally ignorant racist people who would speak to a person with a camera and forgot that film could be downloaded in a few minutes and their images sent across the world. There is nothing in this world more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscienous stupidity....

How did our nation come to this? People are actually proud of thier ignorance! This is like Leno's Jay Walking bit only it's not at all funny.
I think racism is so deeply embedded in these folks that they will twist any and all facts to try and hide it. It's okay to be bigotted against Muslims in their world view because of the war on terror so they are just using Muslim as a euphemism for black. I mean, gee, if they were to say, "Obama's a black man." in the same tone of voice that they say he's a Muslim, why, someone would think they are racist.

I'm happy to read this article. Thank you Bill Milliken for speaking up. I do hope other Senators and Congressman start to speak up against the Palin/ McCain ticket (but they most likely will not). This morally wrong behavior and self glory has to be stopped.

Sign this petition if you think McCain should stop talking about Obama and William Ayers...and start talking about the economy instead:
