Jon Stewart highlighted Fox News' coverage from the past few days in politics on his show Thursday night, showing everything the network chose to cover rather than focusing on the economy, which correlates to voters leaning towards Barack Obama.

"I'm guessing you guys don't want to talk about the economy," Obama spokesman Bill Burton said to Gretchen Carlson on "Fox & Friends."

"Here's what Fox has been talking about just since Tuesday's debate," Stewart said, before showing clips of the following:

  • Megyn Kelly discussing voter fraud
  • Sean Hannity mentioning William Ayers
  • Megyn Kelly, Brian Kilmeade, and Steve Doocy discussing Newsweek's liberal bias
  • Sean Hannity mentioning Reverend Jeremiah Wright
  • Megyn Kelly referencing Obama's "deep secret ties" to the Kenyan government
  • "Fox & Friends" introducing country star Aaron Tippin's "Drill Here, Drill Now!"
  • and a collection of Bill Ayers clips, punctuated by Frank Luntz downplaying the results of a post-debate focus group that suggested Obama won the debate.

The Daily Show is the best at pointing out the hypocrisy and absurdity of politics, and the human condition in general. They are masters at it. The other news organisations will never be able to match this facet of the Daily Show. Never. Sometimes the truth is brutal and messed up.

I watch the fox news channel (my keyboard just threw up a little on it's keys) and that Meghan girl with her greasy lips is distracting. How can anyone take her seriously?

John Stewart does what all the other 'news' outlets won't do; tell the truth.
Fox Noise couldn't tell a story about a cat in a tree without lying about how it got there, sensationalizing it beyond its real importance, blaming Democrats for it's being stuck there or praising Republicans for having the guts to stand up and complain about it.

If I were SP and that's the worst I can look, I wouldn't worry. What stupid reporting!

Fox News "patriotism" seems like something out of a 1940s edition of a Captain America comic book. Fox utterly ignores the personal hardships that damnable republican politics have imposed on the nation. I just finished reading an article about what people are doing in the face of all these foreclosures. What a tragedy this nation has become. What vengeance the republicans deserve for their treachery! This also includes, I'm sorry to say, more than a few democrats.

I don't understand why Stewart is picking on the "Full Of eXcrement" Network.

FOX noise is the epitome of TRASH media and is the worse in supposedly giving qualitative information to Americans. FOX is the equivalent of those rag newspapers with stories no one else find truthful enough to report.

Why they are allowed legally to do what they do is beyond all comprehension. Our media watchdog agencies are NOT doing their jobs and hopefully when Obama is in office, that also will change. It is definitely unfair for Americans to be forced to listen to LIES, RACIAL epithets and personal opinions when we are looking for the FACTS instead. FOX wouldn't know a FACT if it came and sat on their face and Americans feel they should NOT have to pay to hear such garbage.

Cable TV needs to reevaluate their lineup and change their format to be able to give customers what THEY WANT TO SEE instead of what cable wants us to see.

A-ha! Now, I know where every idiotic email that I have received from "trusted source" started. Thanks.

Fox News has to be the most biased news channel ever. The thing is it keep arguing it isn't but every time I watch it I can clearly see that it is. It covers Republicans a lot more than Democrats, and when it does cover Democrats it is usually negative criticism. The kind of people I think watch it are Rght Wingers who watch it all the time and can't think for themselves.

Yes, I actually had one recommend it to me -- in all seriousness -- as 'fair and balanced'. "You should check it out!" he enthused. They really believe this!

I think by now we all know Fox News' agenda and I'm glad people like Jon Stewart and Keith Oberman are out there to keep the average viewer aware. The Republicans simply gather together and organize the agenda for the week. For the rest of the election, they will continue to try to link Obama with terrorists, creating a sense of doubt in stupid voter's minds. This is to stay on the offensive and at the same time play defense against the struggling economy. Anything they can do to keep Americans from blaming them for the recession we are in is a win in their books. This time around I think things are just a bit too bad, and Americans have learned valuable lessons from the swiftboating of Kerry to be distracted this time by side issues that mean nothing in the bigger scheme of things.

Jon is the man... he gets straight to the heart of issues better than any legit news stations and pundits. Cuts right thru the BS and hypocrisy. I guess that doesn't say a whole lot about the world of "serious" newscasting, lol.

His gift is that he says what others think about saaying, but won't. It's sad when Jon is the honest newscaster out there. He supposed to be just comedy.

I don't find pollution funny, and Faux News pollutes our national political debate.

Bah... Let them pollute. The less they talk about reality and the more they make up garbage, the fewer the number of people who take it seriously.

Republicans who are economic geniuses suddenly with no economic clue. Let the whole world see it. Reality tests a central pillar of Republic economic theory and their economic theory came off second best.

It only takes a minute to watch fox news and know when the news will be slanted. It's a comedy of errors.
