McCain Forced To Send Palin To Once-Red West Virginia

In what may be another signal that the troubled economy is forcing John McCain's campaign to play electoral map defense, Sarah Palin has scheduled a bus tour for Sunday through West Virginia, a state that's been leaning red throughout this presidential race.

Palin had already scheduled a bus tour of Pennsylvania on Saturday, but she will now repeat that act on Sunday by making various unannounced stops throughout West Virginia, culminating in a campaign event in southeast Ohio. It's a swing geographically reminiscent of Hillary Clinton's effort during the Democratic primary to court white working class voters in Appalachia. Clinton won the West Virginia primary over Barack Obama by a whopping 67-26 margin.

Obama has done an excellent job of forcing McCain to spend time in states that would normally be considered locked-in from the outset. The next thing he has to do is start forcing McCain to work on the weekends, which he has done only ONCE this year, including the presidential election.

Many laughed when President Pan said he was a uniter not a divider.

With all these formerly red states turning blue, it seems that Pan may indeed have the last laugh.

I hate to be such a nay-sayer, but I lived in WV for the first 20 years of my life. I saw the ethnic insensitivity first hand. I'm white and dated a girl in high school who, like Obama was mixed race. Let me just say it didn't go over very well. I was called about every horrible name you could imagine. Almost every "friend" I had stopped talking to me. My parents even grounded me and took my driving privileges away. Things did not get better until I moved away to go to college. I haven't looked back. Oh, I occasionally go back to visit with family or attend funerals, but I sure don't feel like much has changed.

I predict WV will eat up Pailn, just like they do funnel cake at the Regatta every year in Charleston. Her religious and far right wing banter is right up their alley. We have already heard words like terrorist and traitor at some of her rallys. I sure hope the cameras are rolling in WV, because we might hear some of the worst language yet. Oh, and I dont think for a minute that Barack will win in WV, for whatever reason, the polls are off. But the good news is, i dont think he will need to. he'll win FL or OH or VA and combined with the Kerry states, it will be enough. WV would be icing on the cake if it were to shift blue.

I doubt Obama will get WV as well, but the Republicans have to actively defend it to keep it. It's good for us and it shows some progress.

When McCain is reduced to shoring up a traditionally racist state that Obama hasn't really even campaigned in, you know it's bad. This is just trying to stave off embarrassment, because it can't be those 5 electoral college votes fro WV.

A traditionally racist state? Really?
Do you want to say that to the WV coal miners that took a day off work to support Obama against attacks made by the NRA?
Its 2008. Act like, the rest of us are...

Yes, REALLY. Like the young black female who was kidnapped and tortured their in 2007. And I even saw it too while traveling through the area. So yeah, it is 2008, but some in your state haven't realize that. You're not black, so you'll never experience what I have. Look around and think about that before your feelings get hurt. Those miners don't prove anything yet. People in your state have issues. Deal with that. Some whites have a lot of ground to make up before they can convince anyone of anything.

Palin as a serial abuser will not go away, even if Palin/McCain lose the Presidency. You really have to vote this time. Your future depends on it. If you want to live you have to vote.

Original post by: JR-Vette A friend sent this to him:¨

"A teacher in New York asked her 6th grade class how many of them were McCain fans... ¨¨

Not really knowing what a McCain fan was, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for Little Johnny. ¨¨

The teacher asked Little Johnny why he decided to be different.

Little Johnny said, 'Because I'm not a McCain fan.'

The teacher said, 'Why aren't you a McCain fan?' ¨

Johnny said, 'Because I'm a Democrat.' ¨

The teacher asked why he's a Democrat. ¨¨

Little Johnny answered, 'Well, my Mom's a Democrat and my Dad's a Democrat, so I'm a Democrat.' ¨¨

The teacher asks, 'If your Mom was a mor@n, and your Dad was an idi@t, what would that make you?'

With a big smile, Little Johnny replied, 'That would make me a McCain fan. ' "¨

I always liked Little Johnny.

While it brings in a sense of humor, it also tells us the truth.

OBAMA for President " BIDEN for VP.

We must become the "insurgents" for Obama-Biden against McCain and the "pain" Palin.

To the good people of West Virginia, who have suffered enough over the years, I extend my most sincere condolences. Just ignore the lady.

McCain should be forced to send her packing.

PLEASE HELP " Let your voice be heard! Talk back to the media. We cannot allow American to guided into it's future with McCain-Palin and Carl Rove calling he shots.

PLEASE THINK!!!!

The future of a "united" AMERICA IS DEPENDING ON US. We must help heal a nation that is/was wounded and hurt by McCain and Palin.

They"ve (FAIR's Media Contact List) got to realize that all voters are not stupid and will not be convinced or fall under the spell of McCain and Palin. We actually see both sides of all issues and happen to prefer Obama"s and Biden"s views on how help lead America out of the financial crises. Also to help heal the wound, (hate, threat of vioience) that McCain and Palin inflicted upon the American people.

For FAIR and equal News reporting.

We can let our 'voices be heard' by voting Obama/Biden on Election Day. That's really all that needs to be done.

Gov. Palin has brought much of the problem onto the McCain campaign to start with: she was not properly vetted, she is not qualified for the position as shown through her series of unscripted interviews and she's been throwing dangerous red meat rhetoric around like she's just another by gosh hockey mom/pit bull. People are getting tired of these angry distractions. Watch this for a great compliation and comparison:

I am very glad she left the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Hey Sarah: Please just keep going. We don't need you here. But if you come to my town, I will have a big sign for you to read. Don't worry, I'll use small words.
