Real, genuine, sincere, grounded, honest, self-depricating, thoughtful, caring, happy, sensitive, loving. This comes across effortlessly. The McC campaign has to label themselves to tell us what they want us to believe about them.

Today, watching this... I think this is the first time I've allowed myself to believe it WILL happen and it wasn't until my hubby asked me why I was crying that I even realized how much I'd been holding back in fear of another gigantic let down.

I wonder how many of us have held ourselves back just a bit .. hoping but not quite believing.

I remember the last twice, my sadness was a bit overwhelming and my disappointment was so deep.

I'm forwarding this to everyone on my e-mail list.

My question is WHO IS SARAH PALIN? Never heard of the woman until McCain picked her. Barack Obama was noticed big time in 2004 when he gave that rousing speech and the Democratic Convention. Everyone was in awe and said he was going to go to the top fast. Now that he is at the top why is everyone surprised?
Obama represents what is good about America. I know all I need to know. He instills pride and hope to people who would never even conceive of voting for anything in America.
I know who Obama is, he is the inspiration America has been lacking for a long long time.

Don't laugh at me for saying this: he is the inspiration the WORLD has been lacking, and has been looking for for a long time. Only once in each generation does the universe send along a soul to effect change in the hearts of men, and herald a new era, to bring water to the parched spirits of the multitude. We have seen such prolific human beings in history. They are extraordinary beings. They look deeper beneath the surface than you or I, and they are gifted with the vision of the route out of that maze, where mankind, or where their own people, have lost their way. Leaders like these have no fear; they usually embrace their destinies, and as soon as they recognize what their mission is, they remain focused. No wind, no rain, no hate rallies, no distractions will stop them from delivering the message they have been entrusted with.

Barack Obama is the messenger for this generation. He's young enough to be able to straddle both 20th and 21st century values. In him flows the blood of races from each end of the spectrum, he is culturally exposed and erudite, a deep thinker and a selfless individual not moved to passion by great personal wealth. Such men are humbled by their task and just see themselves as instruments, as mankind matures and is able to take another step towards further enlightenment.

Not only am I not laughing, Kadene...I fully embrace what you write, and am delighted to know it's possible to find a post that acknowledges how much more this is about than simply the shift of a political paradigm...
Enlightenment of a spiritual nature is the underlying feature here - a spirituality that encourages the acknowledgment of our true divine nature and all that such a nature brings to the table. You can see it in Barack's face, in his posture, in his Soul. Reflected back...to us.
Thanks for your wonder-full thoughts.

From the other side of the world, we've felt a change coming & it's with great HOPE i pray the winds of change smile favourably on November 4. What a momentous day it will be, not just for America but all of mankind. May the brave stand strong & shine bright !

I know Mrs. Obama isn't running for office but you can't help but have an affinity for her ! The country may never be the same with the Obamas in the House but it will never have been better.

...i'm not one for political soap-boxing but felt obliged to sign-up & comment after seeing the video (twice).

Wow this video brought tears to my eyes..just to see a potential president that is so real and just like us in so many ways. The relationship that he has with his wife, the way him and Joe smile and laugh they really seem to like each other. The love that the Obama's have for their girls. These people are incredible. I think the fact that we all are inspired by this family is so amazing....I love the Obama's and think this country is in for it's best years ahead. I know that Barak will do what he says that he will do...you can see it in his eyes...the honesty and the integrity...I feel that the McCain campaign is really underestimating the love and affinity that the country has for Obama....I think with the election we will see the reverse bradley affect...I am so excited for the future of this country and like another poster said...I want to love my country...I already love our future president...Can you imagine anyone loving their president...has not happened in many years...and has never happened for me until now!!!!!! OBAMA/BIDEN 08

I don't even need to watch the video. I already know Barack Obama well enough to know he is the best candidate for the presidency I've seen in my life. It is a privilege to have him as a candidate. I also know all I need to know about John McCain and Sarah Palin. Both are demagogic mediocrities. of whom we've all seen more than enough.

My peers were the first idealistic eighteen year olds that were allowed to vote so that gives you a clue how many elections that I have seen and been a part of. I remember going to the polls that first time and casting my ballot. Since that time, I've voted for many candidates and NONE of them moved or inspired me as much as Barack Obama does.

I am a white woman from North Carolina and I grew up experiencing segregation, desegregation and the civil rights movements of the sixties. As a nation, we have come so far and what the GOP and McCain/Palin campaign is doing to stir up hate, fear and racism is reprehensible.

Come on swing states, rock the vote!!! We can't let another election be stolen from us.

I can't wait until November 4 and Barack Obama is elected as our new president!!!!

I cast my first vote for McGovern. I can still remember the excitement.

I want to love my country. I want to love this illusion, the United States of America. The only way for me to love this country is for this country to be responsible. The first responsibility is to the Native Americans, even NOW, today on INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY (when columbus invented america). Our second responsibility is to African Americans -- our true lineage as homo sapiens (every human according to DNA) is African descent. Thank you BLACK MAMA EVE for conceiving us all. We must right the wrongs of the past where one group powers over another. We must bring healing to our planet. We must stop competing and capitalizing and conquering. It is time for coexistence and cocreation.

Thank you Barack Obama for releasing me from the huge oppressive (via the bushco lense) responsibility that I personally carry for this United States. Thank you for realizing a higher dream and a higher state of existence.

Honestly, I intensly scrutinize those who take our planet into living Hell. Mostly these poor folks think they are doing the right thing -- usually in the name of montheism. I appeal to their higher natures as well. I daily seek that all of our hearts open.

Let our hearts heal. Let our hearts fill this metaverse. Let our heart fill our own rooms. Let our hearts be the size of this Turtle Island. Gently and completely giving rest and happiness to all. Let our hearts encompass our famiy and ourself.

Have faith in the power of the Constitution. 8 years of Bush dented but didn't destroy it. It's what makes our Country the wonder that it is. Obama realizes this.

I can't wait to see the 30 minutes air time the week before the election. Knowing this campaign, it will close the deal.
