Palin Hired PR Consultant To Burnish Reputation

During her first months in office, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin kept a relatively light schedule on her workdays in Juneau, making ceremonial appearances at sports events and funerals, meeting with state lawmakers, and conducting interviews with Alaska magazines, radio stations and newspapers.

But this spring, Palin's official calendar chronicles an extraordinary rise to national prominence. A fresh face in Republican politics, she was discovered by the national news media at least in part because of a determined effort by a state agency to position her as an oil and gas expert who could tout Alaska's determined effort to construct a natural gas pipeline.

An outside public relations expert hired under a $31,000 contract with the state Department of Natural Resources pitched the "upstart governor" as a crusader against Big Oil, a story line that Palin has adopted in her campaign as Sen. John McCain's running mate. The contract was the only time the Palin administration hired an outside consultant to set up media interviews, a function performed in many states by government employees.

I guess this proves that it really makes sense to pay top dollar when you buy a product.

The bargain brands and services don't always work .

She should ask for her money back.

Nice try, Sarah, but America is quite aware of the truth about you.

Now why don't you pretend to be an Alaskan wolf.

New PR Image for Palin:

Sarah Palin - The Tonya Harding of Politics

Exactly! Tonya Harding. Perfectly stated!
Just hit the legs of your opponents with your hockey stick when all else fails to bring 'em down!
Pathetic.
Obama & Biden 08.
We are smarter than that.

Did the $31,000 include the lip line tattoo? Because I would seriously get my money back over that.

I think some of the ink soaked into her cranium and made a stain on the membrane

I have a feeling she's going to SERIOUSLY regret that lip liner tattoo in about ten years.

The agenda is to get Palin in the White House, get rid of McCain which would allow "THEM" to rule and police the nation through Palin. That is why they cover for her, no matter how "dumb" she is politically.

They don't need McCain, they need her.

It's McCain's ultimate sacrifice. Look at him when he gives a speach - he looks and acts like he is very ill. What you see in his eyes and call "life" is actually hate.

His ultimate goal is to help usher in " The NEW WORLD ORDER." and obtain for that "mouse" of a wife of his, the title of Frist Lady.

I just read David Brooks in the NYTimes. He's upset that the Republicans are running against smart people (I summarize) and he says Palin is an example of that.
But he insists that Palin, herself, is smart. I'm still not sure how he came to that opinion. Was it her ability to answer a question coherently. I often can't think of quick answers and I even phumpher an answer. BUT I never would say stupid things like "I have foreign poilcy experience because Alaska is next to Russia." And if anyone said that for me - I would never repeat it.

David, you may be smart but either you are afraid of telling the truth or you have been bamboozled (like many other Republican men) by a flashy, beautiful woman who winks at you. Why is it that Republican men don't so much like smart, direct women like Hillary but fall in love with the pretty face who has learned to 'play' the men?

Check out this blog by two, tough, old women who aren't afraid to tell the truth:

Sarah Palin seems to me to be every bit a 'toy' of the GOP right now. They tell her what they want her to say, in the national spotlight, and she does ... perhaps without even a moment's hesitation, but with a wink & a nod. Gov. Palin puts winning in November over the best interests of our distressed country; and for that reason (and many others) I hope she & McCain lose big this fall.

Some stupid white guy was momentarily turned on and told her to go with that.

Ditto for the wink. Some Karl Rove employee saw that down at Debate Camp in Arizona and told her to do it every 20 seconds.

America is not some old white pervert guy.
