Palin Rape Kit Controversy: New Evidence (VIDEO)

The Wasilla Project covers the Sarah Palin rape kit controversy, interviewing several Alaskans who add to the case that she knew of the policy of charging victims for their own rape kits. Eric Croft, the Democratic lawmaker who worked to overturned the practice, says its hard to believe Palin didn't know about it. Dr. Colleen Murphy, a former member of the Alaska Violent Crimes Compensation Board, says she was approached by rape victims who had been charged for their exams. Wasilla Project points out that while Palin said that it would be "crazy" to charge rape victims for their forensic exams, she never denied that her hometown did so while she was mayor. A Wasilla City Council member (once a Republican, now an independent) wonders why Palin's mayoral administration couldn't cover the cost of rape kits when, according to reports, she redecorated her office several times. I realize that they have divulged this information late three Fridays before the election and the news ended up on page 13 of most newspapers on Saturday. The economy has run over the McSame campaign. But the judgment of McSame in his very first decision should be considered a stark and utter failure. All Americans should be quite aware that the erratic behavior of the camp, particularly from the *leader* of the camp, as well as the decisions they have made are just a small taste of what you will see in a McSame presidency.

How could anyone want this woman as VP? How could anyone want this woman to ever have a chance to run as an incumbant and not be seriously worried about her decisions that would affect your life? I know it happens but I don't understand how people how naive so many people can be that would also refuse to look at the facts of what they say they believe. Not the media slants - but research the facts by using more than one source of knowledge. Not the knowledge of the reporter, or the opinions of news agencies. We - or most of us - want to change things for the better. Too much is not known known about Palin. After all, even she says she's only been at this, for what - 5 weeks? She doesn't deserve the right to say what she does about Obama - except that she is told to say them - when the skeletons in her own closet are just beginning to emerge.

If I hear a rumor about a person or organization, I research it through reputable sources. If we continue to march to the beat of the "socialist idealogy" that the government can and should take care of every aspect of our lives while we just focus on being entertained instead of informed, we deserve what we get.

When we get the "REAL" truth about this issue, we will find that Palin did allow victims to be charged, knew of the practice and condoned it and did little to stop it.

Just like the "REAL" truth which came out with the Troopergate report that proves Palin used the power of her office to intimidate her subordinates and employees, allowed her husband (not an Alaska state employee) to meddle in state affairs and use the power of his wife's office to pressure and intimidate state employees and her subordinates.

Understand what the report said: the govern may fire certain employees at will, but she is not entitled to abuse her powers to do so.

So far, Sarah Palin has "ethically" abused her power on quite a few things....­.I find it really hard to believe that she didn't know about the rape kit charging. She is quite the liar too.

The issue really is a simple one: a chief executive of a government is responsible for the policies of that government.

There are only two possibilities: Palin, like any diligent and responsible new chief executive reviewed the policies of the agencies that affected the town's citizens and so was aware of that particular policy; OR Palin was not diligent and responsible during her entire tenure as mayor and chose not review those policies.

Let's not forget that Palin had scrutinized the Wasilla PD closely enough to know that she wanted to dismiss its chief. Any reasonable, prudent, and responsible chief executive who had no confidence in the head of an agency would undertake to review all facets of how agency operated so as to take "corrective" action where necessary.

The bottom line is that Palin either knew or should have known of the policy. Period.
