Palhood

Veteran Republican Congressman Ray LaHood criticized his party's vice presidential nominee Friday, saying that Sarah Palin's vitriolic campaign rallies ""don't befit the office she's running for."

Rep. LaHood, who has represented Illinois' 18th district for seven terms and is retiring in January, told WBBM Radio that Palin should control the racially-charged heckling at her rallies:

"Look it. This doesn't befit the office that she's running for. And frankly, people don't like it."

Some of the names Obama is being called, which include "terrorist" and "traitor," "certainly don't reflect the nature of the man," LaHood said to WBBM.

LaHood supports John McCain's candidacy, but warned that the heckling could backfire on the Republican ticket.

PUH-leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze.

Phyllis Schlafly had a law degree and a brain. AND she was great orator.

I abhor her politics and everything about her, but she is at least intelligent.

We need more Republicans with a conscience like LaHood to speak up. This is really getting frightening and horrifying. Only the Republicans can put a stop to it. McCain will be a pariah after this.

A letter to John McCain,

Mr. McCain, you have been weighed in the balances and your time is up. The decisions you have made regarding your campaign have been without regard to the American people. You have put yourself first and country last. Your once respected campaign rallies have now become hate rallies. You have allowed Sarah Palin to hi-jack your campaign rallies and turn them into forums for hate. This has opened the old wounds of racism and fear that continues to plaque the south. The south is one part of the country where you are above 50% in the polls. You nor your running mate are talking about real issues for the American people. The more you push division and hate you will be pushed down in the polls. The hands of God will not let you pass. The American people in this time of our history are not looking for messages filled with hate. Since you are not willing to take back the control you have given to Sarah Palin, you are heading for a political disaster that will be in the history books. Your time is up.

Do you think McCain has asked Steve Schmidt, "Why are all the people in our crowds wearing brown shirts?"

do you think those people in brown shirts will realise what is about to happen after they say "Who are all these new people in our crowds wearing black shirts?"

It is deliberate. If they don't get the violence they want, they will plant people to start it.

We are already under martial law, starting October 1. Amy Goodman reports:

Wow! So what does this tell us? Who knows what and why? Are they anticipating a huge backlash when this election gets "stolen" and they're being prepared ahead of time? Geez...

They're all coming out of the woodwork. After this show neither McCain nor Palin is fit for office of any kind. It's shameful. We've all seen ugly campaigns -- but I swear, this is beyond disgusting. I'm beginning to think that they both really, genuinely hate Obama -- and not for his lack of experience. The more they rage the better Obama looks. I was not going to vote for either, but I've got to give my vote to Obama -- just to ensure this pair of lunatics does not get in. Will McCain's political career be over after this?

Words to live by.....

“A lot of people are apathetic about campaigns because you see a lot of the garbage that goes on in campaigns and the personal attacks and the character assassinations that are so unnecessary,” she said. “They’re useless; they detract from the issues.” Sarah Palin, Fairbanks Daily News Miner Editorial Board Interview, 2006

While Republicans speaking out against the tactics of the McCain-Palin campaign is an unexpected gift, don't confuse it with a sudden awakening of conscience, but rather a tool to use in their own political future. You'll see my point when they have to distance themselves from what will go down in history as the most dispicable and heavily defeated campaign in modern times.
