Sarah Palin On SNL October 25: Report

Seth Meyers said there was "no truth" to the rumor that Sarah Palin would appear on SNL this week but said, "Our doors are always open." Lorne Michaels recently said "all in good time."

The New York Post's Cindy Adams reported Friday when, exactly, Michaels meant: October 25. The gossip columnist reports that it is a "done deal" that Palin will appear on SNL one of the final weekends before the election:

Soccer moms and Joe Sixpacks, listen up. Get your beer, mooseburgers and caribou dips ready. Sarah Palin is doing "Saturday Night Live." Not Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin doing "Saturday Night Live." But the Sarah Herself. She has already OK'd it. She's booked. It's confirmed. Done deal. Sketches are being sketched as we speak. She - eyeglasses, haircomb, designer jacket and trunkful of gosh-darns, golly-gees and gol-dangs - will be on "SNL" Saturday night, Oct. 25. Sarah's rehearsal time has already been penciled in for Friday the 24th. And it's because she wants to do it.

Well I won't be watching. I laugh at her not w/her. I can't believe they are going thru w/this especially after what's been going on at her rallies. She is no hockey mom. McCain has been on the show. Obama was invited to be one the show. It's only fair to ask her especially since they've boosted their ratings by doing imitations of her. However, I doubt her being on SNL is going to help her campaign at all. It will just make her look bad by spending time on SNL but not doing serious interviews.

Lorne, you're pathetic. The same short-term self-interest that has ruined the economy, has ruined your network, and now you and your show. Instead of using your recent ratings spike as a means to breathe new life into your brand, you're selling it out.

We like SNL because its funny, and there's truth int he satire. Not because we enjoy worshiping power brokers. She hasn't earned the right to b on SNL - its for public figures who deserve the assisted self-deprecation. How is she going to satire herself, when she has no grasp on who she is - other than a immoral monster of ambition.

I just emailed NBC and Lorne Michaels I will boycott all NBC, MSNBC and Bravo programming if they go through with it. I hope others will too. My feelings towards her and the McCain campaign have become so strongly negative I know others must feel the same. I can't believe they would allow her a venue to show her "Humorous" side. Inciting the kind of vitrol and hatred she does with their supporters NBC might as well bring on David Duke....
