Sigourney Weaver is not a fan of VP candidate Sarah Palin. Speaking to TV Guide about her upcoming guest spot on Eli Stone, on which she'll play a therapist, Weaver said, "I actually have a therapist. She's very smart and we try not to talk about politics because we're both incensed about Sarah Palin."

Earlier this week at an event Sigourney Weaver told the press, "I don't feel she represents me in any way. She's in a skirt, that's about it."

Eli Stone with Weaver debuts Tuesday, October 14th at 10pm.

"Well that Weaver bitch ought to be grateful to our wonderful troops who are fighting overseas for her right to be incensed."

What exactly is your point routemaster? Why are you mentioning our troops? I read nothing about them in this article. Disliking Palin has nothing to do with our troops.

Ever since Palin has come on the scene there has been something in my gut that has really bothered me and I hadn't been able to figure it out. I think, though, it is evident that she is not what or who she appears to be. I think they call that "a phony."

Ms. Weaver is one of the tens of thousands of women in this country who would have made a better v.p. candidate for McCain than Gov. Palin.

If Mac had to choose someone with little domestic or international experience, then he would have been better off choosing someone who reads, speaks in sentences, writes, and is respected by women and men alike.

All I'm saying is that if he had to go with a total newcomer to politics, Palin was not the way to go.

I'm incensed, too. Women have worked really hard to get ahead. Her cutesy nonsense sets women back 50 years.

Like joy said on the view today palin is just like Dick Cheny but with a skirt. But even worse she has to laughs at cancer survivors. She is not what Americans need. Her speeches are enough too make anyone with any sense would know she is from a radical group of evil. For every human being. She breaks laws to suit her needs. She should be put in jail. If she was in Europe she already be in her jumpsuit.

Why else do you think all the rednecks love her? A woman who knows her place!

I'm so gonna love watching her crawl back to Alaska where they now know exactly who represents (and I use that term loosely) them.

I couldn't agree more. All that cutesy gosh darned flirtin and winking nonsense at the debate really turned my stomach. Women have worked so hard to get to this place and with Hillary Clinton, we came real close to having one for a nominee. Even though I voted for Obama, I would have been happy w/ Hillary as the nominee. She is everything that Sarah Palin isn't. She is able to talk about ISSUES that pertain to the real moms in America. She is able to talk about the economy and foreign policy and health care. I haven't Sarah Palin talk in depth about any of these issues except for the embarrassing remark about being able to see Russia from Alaska.

If women want to be taken seriously, then they should be able to talk about ISSUES and answer some tough questions, Is Sarah Palin a national embarrassment? You betcha!!!

Hey, I guess it was okay for Hlll to toss back a shot and a beer to sell herself though, right? And Sigourney - I haven't watched a picture of hers since she did that stupid space movie. What turned me off to Sig? She had to wear a blonde wig in the movie. I guess she made a mistake of some kind and chalked it up to being blonde and wearing the wig. That was the comment she made. I guess she must have had the wig on when she made the decision to be in the movie in the first place. I thought her remark was insulting, judgmental and patronizing. But I guess that would be just about everyone in Hollywood. Hey Sig, let's see you run the state of Alaska. As for Hillary, I don't have a big problem with her except - how many affairs did Bill have right under her nose? If she knew, why did she put up with it? Ask yourselves that. What was that embarrassing remark Hill made about a "vast right wing conspiracy"? You all have such short memories and expect perfection from Palin when NO ONE, NO ONE prior to her or after her will attain that standard. Oh except maybe Sig.

Just saw Baby's Mama with Fey and Weaver had a supporting role. It was so great to see her in a movie again. Sigourney Weaver is by far one of the best action heroines of all time. The first two "Alien" movies are classic. Saw them last week on Encore. Jolie can't even come close in her flicks (Tomb Raider, RIP), but they are both cool, smart and sexy vixens! :-)

Blue08 I hope for the US you are correct... because unfortunately there seems to be a lack of intelligence in a lot of people when there is a smear campaign going full tilt.
Even if you just read the speeches for yourself of all four people on the ticket, without paying attention to age, color, gender, experience, etc. the substance is lacking in Palin's speeches and the talking points are nothing more than attack points, the news media doesn't even cover Biden enough to find out what he is saying in his speeches.
McCain needs a new campaign staff because I don't think they even know what they are doing or talking about so how can they tell McCain what to talk about? Obama is a great orator but he has been going on the attack too, and I don't think that is productive either.
If I base my vote strictly on where the candidates claim they stand on the issues, I have no choice but to vote for Obama, and just for those on here who think I'm another Democrat, you would be wrong, I'm a Republican who actually uses her brain and thinks for herself. I don't vote by race, gender, sexual orentation, one issue, age, lables like liberal or conservative, religion, or rhetoric.

Wow. Incensed? Why? I don't think it could rise to that level. In politics, you like who you like, and you'll vote who you'll vote for. That's it. Palin is like, for many people in states where hunting is a big thing, the wife next door. That's not such a bad thing. I don't know that there IS or ever will be a politician that can represent the rolling in the dough, loving the spotlight, walking the red carpet kind of actor/actress. Not really. ~I just don't let politics get a rise out of me one way or another. Definitely not to the level of incensed. And if Weaver really feels that way...she needs another job to work on, or she needs to get a hobby.

I'm a regular person, working in a middle school in Nevada, and McCain and Palin make me feel ill. I have fantasies about Palin being the last girl left during dodgeball, and I get to smash her in the face with the ball. I hope she gets re-called by the people of Alaska after she LOSES.

Now, now...aren't some complaining about how Mack's supporters have been a little too angry, a little to vicious? I think Obama's supporters need to tamp down the off the wall rhetoric also...it's toxic...from both sides...

I"m incensed at wealthy Hollywood celebrities continuing to try to influence me on how to vote. Who gives a crap about who P-Diddy is scared of and who incenses Sigourney Weaver? I love how the feminists are for female empowerment unless it goes against the angry militant left, and then the woman is stupid. What a bunch of crap

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:19 AM on 10/13/2008

Although I wouldn't vote for McCain, I understand the Palin phenomenon and can see that many women are NOT incensed by her and what she represents...unfortunately for Weaver and many other Hollywood celebs, their vision of feminism is not shared by quite a number of women in this country. Liberals have done themselves a deep disservice in setting down what THEY deem is the proper critieria for how a woman should act.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:29 AM on 10/13/2008

What liberals are you talking about? Feminism was/is about each woman doing what fulfills her, whether it's raising kids, working, relationships, whatever. The opponents of the equal rights ammendment branded feminists as pinko commie lesbians. The judgment comes from the opposition, not from women trying to help women do better. Sarah palin is only trying to help herself, that's what grates on the nerves of feminists.

But what if the woman in question really IS stupid? Is it not okay to recognize that? And even if we do, if we rightly decide that she's running for a position she's not intellectually qualified to hold, should we give her a pass because she has a vagina? Is that YOUR idea of female empowerment?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:29 AM on 10/13/2008

No, 'the woman" really is stupid. Petty and stupid. Mentally underdeveloped. Moose hunting white trash. That is all she is. Nothing to do with being conservative or liberal.

Hey Sigourney, right, eh? I have the same problem with my doctor! We can't help ourselves -- we can't stop riffing on the "Disasta from Alaska."

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:30 PM on 10/12/2008

My problem with Obama is his policies. He seems like a nice guy but he's pretty misguided in his philosphies.

I would like one Obama supporter to explain how Obama's tax the so called "rich" as defined by Obama is a good idea. I understand his platform perfectly, I just don't understand how it's a good idea considering the economy is in economic meltdown.

Also, I would like a Democrat to explain why Obama says Bush's "policies" caused the mortgage meltdown. I've heard him say that numerous times. What Bush Administration policies is he talking about?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:34 PM on 10/12/2008

The tax policy is simple, at least the way I understand it - the government needs money, lots of it. We owe China, among others, trillions. We just spent close to a trillion for the bailout. McCain has no plan to get money; he's just going to cut, cut, cut spending, except for defense, which likely means he'll continue to send 10 billion a month to Iraq while cutting millions from medicare, social security, and many other necessary programs. Obama will do a little more work and try to cut expenditures where vital programs won't be greatly affected. Obama will cut taxes for 95% of the people and raise it only for people making $250,000 or more. This will bring back a lot of tax revenue to help pay for all the expenses. McCain will cut taxes for everyone, but, as in the Bush tax cuts, the major beneficiaries will be the top 5%, who really don't need more money. Even with Obama's tax increase, they would still be paying less than they did under the Clinton AND Reagan administrations. The Middle and Lower classes will not save nearly as much with McCain's plan as they would with Obama's.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:08 PM on 10/12/2008

Obama cut taxes? A Democrat cut taxes? I needed a good laugh, and just got one. Obama says the "Bush tax cuts" need to expire. There goes my taxes up again. And, I make a LOT less than $250,000. Clinton raised my taxes, Bush cut them, now Obama is going to raise them again.
But, I have a stand-by plan. If the Marxist, Obama gets elected, I am going overseas. I already have a place to live. I want to live in a free country. Obama, I honestly think, wants to make the United States of America, into the United Socialist States of America. I am afraid of him! Also, I am a gun collector. Obama, and other liberals seem to have an irrational, psychotic fear of gun owners. Why? Is it because an armed person is a free person? Hard to control? When guns are outlawed, that is a police state. Maybe that is what the libs want.
Lets not forget, Obama, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and other dems, defended Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac. And, they got a LOT of money from them. Yep, there were a few Reps in there too, but mostly, by a wide margin, Dems.
And, while you are bashing the rich, answer me this: when was the last time a poor person offered you a job?
I have rattled on long enough. Time to shut up.

Manster, here is MY reply. Every day, for months, I have monitored comments on Alaska newspapers, Colorado newspapers, and Arizona newspapers. There are comments on every political article. Common comments are: what has Obama done, I don't think he has any experience; what is his legislagtive record, it looks like nothing; what are his positions; blah blah blah--and I have responded with facts and links that have taken me about 200 hours to compile. So when I see you asking for SOMEONE ELSE to do the research that you could very well do yourself, it ticks me off.

And when you say, "his misguided in his philosphies", I would like YOU to tell ME what you mean by that. How about YOU doing the work?

THEN, I will GLADLY answer your questions about policies and taxes. Deal?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:09 PM on 10/12/2008

The one that should have done the research is the mainstream press...they dropped the ball entirely, and as a consequence, rumor and innuendo replaced much needed thorough vetting of Obama...

What research do you have in mind? Obama's website? I think not.

Much better are the Chicago newspapers and especially WMAQ-TV which have been relentless in their investigations of Obama's past. The rest of the media have let Obama slide by, by giving us some brush off statements that only serve to fuel the speculation that he is not being honest or straightforward about his past...

There would have been no need to discuss WIlliam Ayers now or any of the other memes Mack and his minions have trotted out if we knew specific details from the mainstream press about Obama's alliances...NOT associations.

Manster, there is enough blame to go around for this mortgage meltdown. The number one on my list is the irresponsible home owners who bought homes they couldn't afford. Again, there's enough blame to go around, but Bush was hugely responsible for pushing home ownership on people who couldn't afford it. This "ownership society" belief was doomed from the beginning. I think Clinton started it and Bush pushed hard.

It was the Predatory lenders!!! They targeted the poor and the minorities.
When Wall Street leveraged 30:1 for every mortgage they brought in, who made that money? Wall Streeters.
Show me a poor man that mortgaged the same house 30 times.
Then, Wall Street crooks packaged and sold those other 29 non-existent house mortgages to every country around the world...bringing on the collapse.
Sorry, can't blame it on the 1 mortgage the poor man couldn't pay.

It doesn't matter how much you LIKE Sigourney - she's Hollywood, for pete's sake. Celebrities should stick to entertaining - we certainly pay them enough. This is about our country -- why do all the celebrities slam Palin.....and other politicians -- because stars take years to get noticed and Palin is a star in a short time. You will all see what a great job she does. Reread all your notices - the majority of you sound like dumb Democrats. Educate yourselves. We have a world out there to be taken care. Is Sigourney gonna do that for you? By the way, Democrats all think that Obama is running against Bush. Dumdiddies.

two cents: educate yourself.

Palin has missed being in the capital 78% of her time in office.
Has accepted jewelry and gifts in the tens of thousands of dollars.
Gave every man, woman and child in Alaska $1000+ dollars, then had to raise revenue for state needs.
Left the town of Wasilla $22M in debt.
Redecorated her office in Wasilla 4x to the tune of $50K.
Read the posts on the Alaska Daily News, two cents, 2:1 they want to impeach Palin.
Used tens of thousands of state taxpayer money to fly her family to religious events.
Installed a tanning bed in her office.
Appointed high school friends to well paying state jobs--ex: a realtor as head of the agrucultural dept. because she "likes cows".

Two cents, we want change back, because you don't have two cents worth of info.

Excellent synopsis. Let's not forget the horrifying wolf hunts, Troopergate, and the attempt at book banning. She's really scaring me. Can you imagine how much damage she could do in the White House? As if we're not in bad enough shape as it is...... Not just the economy, but jeopardizing our basic rights, the environment, and the progress women, minorities, and gay people have made.

And Obama was second in receiving donations from Fannie and Freddie - over $127k. I understand that the $22m debt was due in part to the sports arena that was built. Oh and that was voter approved (by ballot) indebtedness. On the other hand, you and I are now $700B in debt due to Barack and Barney and buddies and we don't even have a stinking ice arena to show for it. Oh and where did you get the 78% figure? I am curious as to how much time Obama has spent doing his job as he has been running for President 2 of the 3 years he has been in the Senate. And as long and you brought up the words "educate yourself" the word is spelled agricultural. Stay smug Awakenedcitizen, it is that attitude that will put John McCain in the White House. Thank you.

Strange though it sounds, that is actually the good news.

You have less impact here when you sound like a little brat playing a game outside.
