George W. Bush began his presidency with the worst terrorist attack on American soil and he is ending it with the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. In between, he confronted a hurricane that nearly wiped New Orleans off the map as his administration showed ineptitude in its response.

Now, as he spends his last months in office trying to avert a global economic collapse, Mr. Bush has been telling people privately that it's a good thing he's in charge.

When the economy started going into the crapper, I thought to myself, thank God George Bush is the president. If he can't save us, no one can.

It's a really good thing that Baby Bush is in charge! After all he created trhe most greedy, imcompetent and most corrupt administration in U.S. history! But! But! what about his mentor? F-U Cheney?

Bush in five seconds - the video snip of the G7 meeting.

The fate of billions of people are at stake.
Bush is winking and smiling at someone across the room - probably wishes he had a spit ball.
The Argentine speaker sitting right next to Bush quits speaking and turns to Bush.
Bush is caught not paying attention
Bush tries to fake sincerity, interest, compassion, and competency.

Bush in five seconds.

As Maher said, "I knew Bush had one more disaster in him! Watch, when he leaves, the White House will be going up in flames as he walks back to Crawford."

Talk about deluded. It's a good thing G. W. Bush didn't get his hands on Social Security and release funds to Americans whom, as he proposed, could 'invest in the stock market' Al Gore was right 'keep social security in a lockbox'

Either he pretends to be confident, or he is out of his mind. Maybe both.

The disappointment with this kind of leadership is clear. Read how French Lagarde contrasts the meeting in the US with the meeting in Europe.
Ridiculous that the US now finally is changing its approach to recap of banks by acquiring a stake. Benelux, Germany, Britain and even Russia have already implemented that. But ideology is still hampering efforts in the US. Paulson and Bush are still practicing crony capitalism or corporatism. Read the NYT: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/12/business/12imf.html?ex=1381464000&en=320a207eaf482a25&ei=5124&partner=digg&exprod=digg
So the taxpayer has to foot the bill but the shareholder and management will be protected.
Bush/Paulson seem to have a conflict of interest.

"It's a good thing I'm in charge", he says. In Bush's and Cheney's case incompetence is its own reward and the country's disaster.

God only knows how f-ed up this country would be had Al Gore been president... I shudder to think how awful things could be.

It should have read:

"Bush still delusional about economy and his place in history."

These guys belong in jail. People, demand it from your congress the minute that the votes are counted in Obama's favor. Impeachment and imprisonment by January.

Our only hope is Bush and Cheney are dumb enough to leave the country and be jailed as war criminals. I know one of them is dumb enough to leave, but the other may stay in the good old safe USA.

He really believes it. He isn't as dumb as we think, but very bullheaded. I fear that he will realize just about the magnitude of his policy errors before he leaves office. This makes one of two choices possible, either we need to be very careful not to find ourselves under martial law with an effective
Bush dictatorship or perhaps more likely, Bush should be on suicide watch.
