New York Times:

George W. Bush began his presidency with the worst terrorist attack on American soil and he is ending it with the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. In between, he confronted a hurricane that nearly wiped New Orleans off the map as his administration showed ineptitude in its response.

Now, as he spends his last months in office trying to avert a global economic collapse, Mr. Bush has been telling people privately that it's a good thing he's in charge.

The government of the United States of America is a Monty Python skit. It's official.

We've got W, whose bumbling around creates crisis after crisis, and then his bumbling around trying to fix things only seems to make each thing he touches worse. And he continues to claim that it's a good thing he's in charge. Whether it's the financial crisis or the dire need to keep the same government because we're at war and things would suffer without him, or he's flying over to make sure the people of NOLA are still on the roof.
To add something new to this long-running skit that is getting old, enter McCain - wandering around aimlessly from debate stage to Davenport IA - and he also knows exactly how to get things done.

The only way a skit like this works is if it's too extreme to be believed. And the people of the United States made it real.

No, He's not joking, but he has been a national joke for the past eight years.

As I recall, tradition has it that a new President rides up to the White House to take it over from the old President.

I would love it if Obama brought along with him Bill and Hillary Clinton. Clinton could say "Did you manage to restore honor and dignity to the white house? the Nation?"

"Where's the peace and prosperity and nearly one trillion dollar surplus I left you?"

"Heck of a job you done with what I left ya".

"Do you think they will mispell 'failure' on you tombstone?"

Much as I've been less than pleased with some of Clinton's behavior lately, he is due that bit of revenge for the way the right trashed him when W took over. I think everything you suggest is fair.

It's a good thing he's in charge?

He has got to be kidding, right?

He created this mess. Four straight tax cuts in his first four years. Tax cuts for the wealthy. The inability of wages to keep up with increases in productivity. Meadian family income has actually gone down during his Presidency - even while productivity has gone up. These are all root causes to this problem.

This guy doesn't have the slightest clue on what's happening. I have almost no faith that things will get better before they get worse. Things are going to get worse, much worse, before they get better.

He has ruined lives, families and generations to come. How does he sleep? I guess he has no conscience. Yes. I think of my 4 beautiful grandparents who came here from Europe around 1912. Denounced their own countries citizenship in order to live here, and they loved this country and what it stood for then and even helped to build the Holland Tunnel and worked their butts off in the coal mines for a whopping 5.00 a day. They even helped to make the stankin' coal baron's super rich. They sacrificed so much for me and the rest of my family and now look what "this one" has done. Shameful. He thinks it is all so harmless what he has done. does he really think he's doing what is good for the world? Amazing!

Bush didn't get a chance to finish his sentence. What he actually meant to say was--"It's a good thing I'm in charge....instead of Barney the Dinosaur."

In honor of all the fibs Bush has told over the past eight years, the Oxford Dictionary has agreed to alter that famous word for crap BULLSH*T into BUSHSH*T. People are saying it anyways, this just makes it official.

:o)

Bush is a (insert expletives here), but the fact that he is STILL in office is our own fault in part. While Democrats and Republicans have bi***ed and whined back and forth pointing fingers instead of actually holding our leadership accountable, in a way we've brought it on ourselves.

What about the stealing of the last two elections? Is that my fault? What about Nancy taking impeachment off the table, is that my fault? What about being lied to and a sophisticated propagandamachine? F that. Rebublicans are right sometimes about some liberals who always take the blame rather than pushing for justice. Sad. Stay fierce. They f'ed with us so much, stay mad, stay directed.
