New York Times:

George W. Bush began his presidency with the worst terrorist attack on American soil and he is ending it with the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. In between, he confronted a hurricane that nearly wiped New Orleans off the map as his administration showed ineptitude in its response.

Now, as he spends his last months in office trying to avert a global economic collapse, Mr. Bush has been telling people privately that it's a good thing he's in charge.

That movie is so bad it's a caricature of a movie, very much like UU is a caricature of a leader.

George Bush is Osama bin Ladin's dream come true. Bush has abused and diluted the military, alienated even our closest allies, and undermined our economy to the point of collapse. What more could any terrorist want?

You should have stopped after the first six words in your post and you would have had it right. So you believe some guy in a cave with a walk-talk half way around the world brought down the twin towers? Try again

Why even bother to say that Bush in charge of this is a horrifying idea. But he thinks it true! Delusion mixed together with psychotic inability to see the truth of his 8 year tenure.

President Bush's statement is probably very similar to the phrase uttered at 11:40pm on the evening of April 14th,1912 by Edward John Smith (1850-1912), the ill-fated Captain of the RMS Titanic.

What a joke our president is!! Where has he been the last eight years? He is clueless and like the McCain/Palin ticket, he has let his own righteousness blind him to what really is going on. He is trying to bolster his positive rating before he leaves office as the worst, most unpopular, ineffective, president in the history of this country. It won't work prez!

Whenever you read a ridiculous right winger's post that the financial crisis is the democrats fault because a few of them get money from Fannie Mae, just ask them this:

So even though the Republicans totally controlled the Whitehouse, Congress and the Senate from 2000-2006, and still control the Whitehouse, somehow Bush, Cheney, Greenspan, Tom Delay, Trent Lott and Denny Hastert could do nothing to stop the minority democrats from ruining the economy?

They must be pretty incompetent if they controlled everything yet still could do nothing.

You are living in a make believe world. Please note that any study from the AEI is totally GOP biased and they are trying to hide their own guilt in this crisis. After all they are totally for deregulation, tax cuts, easy credit and wars in the middle east which have totally bankrupted our country.

Some very serious food for thought:

National security: U.S. must put economics first
by James M. Ludes & Bernard I. Finel (American Security Project, a bipartisan think tank in Washington), Oct. 10, 2008

"The United States was already dangerously indebted before the housing crisis forced the government to slip even further into the red. Since January 2001, the U.S. national debt has increased from $5.71 trillion to more than $9.64 trillion in August. Our foreign debt has increased even faster, from $1.01 trillion in January 2001 to $2.67 trillion today.

The debt we owe to countries that do not share our interests or whose interests may run at odds with our own has grown even faster than that.

In 2001, we owed oil-exporting nations $48.5 billion - we now owe them $173.9 billion. In 2001, China held $61.5 billion in U.S. debt; it now holds $518.7. In 2001, Russia held less than $10 billion; it now holds $74.1 billion".

Iraq: "Who's in charge? I'm in charge." See where that got us. Credit was claimed, responsibility was denied.

Bush has, on many occasions, taken credit for there being more homeowners than ever before under his leadership. So he does take responsibility for catastrophes, albeit, accidentally.
