New York Times:

George W. Bush began his presidency with the worst terrorist attack on American soil and he is ending it with the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. In between, he confronted a hurricane that nearly wiped New Orleans off the map as his administration showed ineptitude in its response.

Now, as he spends his last months in office trying to avert a global economic collapse, Mr. Bush has been telling people privately that it's a good thing he's in charge.

The empire is in full retreat. Good riddance.

Enough of the so called "American Exceptionalism" for there is nothing exceptional about the US aside from the fact that we are some of the most exceptionally malignant hyprocrites ever manifested on this planet.

No more lecturing other nations as to how they should run their affairs. We stink to the heavens.

Everything about us is toxic: our foreign policy, our social policy, our environment policy, our human rights record, the food we produce (additives, chemicals and GMO), the financial products we unload on the rest of the world and finally our culture that is bereft of all morals and moralily.

And please, no more of the "one nation under God", "God bless America" crap; this nation just pays lip service to God weekends and then goes about perpetrating the most ungodly deeds, at home and abroad.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

I have to add...

Are these policies simply unwise? Or is there *intent* to cause harm?

The answer is out there.

I'll make it simple and sweet.

May George W. Bush and all his minions rot in hell for eternity

Has Obama offered even one idea to get us on a path out of this economic meltdown??? Name it please.

It looks like he wants a meltdown to win more votes. It looks like he wants to be president of a devastated america.

What has Senator Obama done vs. Candidate Obama done in the last 60 stays to show us he can manage the USA out of a crisis? I don't see leadership or competence.

Lets see, a winning campaign that is running at a surplus and has defeated all comers so far and will probably trash McCain.... I think he's the best choice we have... and he certainly can claim that this mess isn't his fault - unlike McCain and his Party and Administration....

As a Senator he did nothing remarkable, nothing at all. He began his presidential campaign the second he got into the senate. He is supported by the very people that put Bush in power and then some.

But Bush has committed the greatest crimes against the people of this country and he should be tried for TREASON. For 9/11, for Iraq, and for this financial meltodwn that happened on "his watch." Paulson should be put to pasture with the cows and George Soros--who has for years in books and lectures, warned this was going to happen--be made Treasury Secretary immediately.

I believe Soros is in favor of letting the market self-correct which means a Depression for sure. We may have that anyway.

Obama wants a Depression so he can carve out his own ideas on what America should look like.

Again, what has Obama done of significance in this crisis? And don't tell me about his speechmaking on this matter. What has he DONE to at least try and stop a depression.
This tragedy has been welcome grist for his mill.

You go first. What has McCain done (cancelling his campaign and making a mess of things doesn't count), and what is his plan. (His plan to buy back mortgages doesn't count since it's debunked by his own party and all economists).

And didn't his campaign state just a day or so ago that we shouldn't expect them to say anything on this crisis, because as a candidate, and even as a President, there's nothing they can do except wait for it to "correct itself"? (Not even a "don't worry, we'll get through this together, or a "don't panic", Americans have resolve).

George Bush has done what Osama bin Laden could only dream. W has abused and diluted the military, destroyed our credibility with friend and foe alike, and brought our economy to its knees. With a president like smallgeorge, who needs Osama?

I want Yale University to name one of their administration buildings after George W. Then, America can always remember where this inept and incompetent fool came from...
