New York Times:

George W. Bush began his presidency with the worst terrorist attack on American soil and he is ending it with the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. In between, he confronted a hurricane that nearly wiped New Orleans off the map as his administration showed ineptitude in its response.

Now, as he spends his last months in office trying to avert a global economic collapse, Mr. Bush has been telling people privately that it's a good thing he's in charge.

Well, Mr. Bush is the ONLY person who is glad he is still in charge.

The man has not grown. In eight years, the man still does not get it. This is a sign of immaturity and a very dysfunctional person. Nero may have been a similar person - while the visual of 'fiddling while Rome burns' is not to be taken literally, it is a close call at Bush's administration. It's amazing we survived as a country to this point. Although at this time, that is also in question.

There was never a reason to hope he might grow or become somehow 'enlightened'.

I just heard recently that Bush was supposed to be on stage with his father when his father was inaugerated for president, but he was too high on cocaine to be involved. To think that a few years later, he was inaugerated and then again. It is hard to fathom how the repubs keep selling ignorant, unqualified people to act like leaders.

Bush: "when I was young and irresponsible, I was young and irresponsible."

Except he was young and irresponsible until he was 40 years old.

Only tarred and feathered. What I would do if I could would cause Bush and cronies a lot more pain and humiliation. I would see to it that their public humiliation never ended.

Hmmm.... sounds like the beginning of spin for Bush to continue to stay in office. Taking advantage of the crisis to subvert the constitution, declare crisis, and retain power. Recall Bush saying "a dictatorship isn't so bad, as long as I'm the dictator -- snicker snicker snort snort heh heh"

The fine print of the Bail Out package dramatically increases the unitary executive, giving it a billion dollars in discretionary funding. The overturn of posse comitatus and the deployment of the military gives BushCo a military force and authority to put down "insurrection" and "terrorism" -- including being able to declare anyone... anyone... a terrorist without any cause.

The last thing BushCo wants is a new administration, pushed to find the "cause" of the crisis, looking at the last 8 years of incompetence, corruption, and rapateous power mondering.

Hmmm... means, motive, and opportunity... sounds like a crime in the making.

When Palin misquoted Reagan saying she doesn't want to tell her children's children to about a time when America was free -- little did we know, that's exactly what she plans on doing.

I fear for our children.

WOW!

WHAT IS THE DEFINITION FOR THE WORD DELUSIONAL?

IS THIS THE PERSONIFICATION OF THAT WORD?

AND I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT THE DEVIL WAS THE CRAZIEST ENTITY IN THE UNIVERSE, FOR TRADING THE GLORIES OF HEAVEN FOR THE HORRORS OF HELL

IS THERE AN ANALOGY HERE TO PONDER?.

A delusion is a false belief---the Martians are listening to my conversations---that can't be corrected with facts or reason. It is a symptom of psychosis. There are different kinds of delusions, including delusions of grandeur, paranoid delusions, ideas of reference and others.

But, people with personality disorders can be quite paranoid and grandiose, without being psychotic. They are more vulnerable to slipping into psychotic states than your average neurotic. Which brings me to the next point. Neurotics are actually higher functioning people than personality disorders. The difference between neurosis and character disorder is this: Neurotics tend to experience a great deal of guilt (e.g. about hurting others) and anxiety, making themselves miserable. Pers Disorders make others miserable; they experience little guilt and blame others for everything. You decided which Bush is.

Thanks, I believe that delusions of grandeur, just might fit. But the category of neurotiics that cares or feels guilty about hurting others, would probably be a misnomer in this instance.
Would you agree?
