Mccain And Palin

New York Times:

After a turbulent week that included new disclosures about Gov. Sarah Palin and signs that Senator John McCain was struggling to strike the right tone for his campaign, Republican leaders said Saturday they were worried that Mr. McCain was heading for defeat unless he brought stability to his presidential candidacy and settled on a clear message to counter Senator Barack Obama.

Again and again, party leaders said in interviews that while they still believed that Mr. McCain could win over voters in the next 30 days, they were concerned that he and his advisers seemed to be adrift in dealing with an extraordinarily challenging political battleground and a crisis on Wall Street.

If I was an undecider and saw McCain/Plain rallies and would be so scared that they will leave me no choice and go the other way.

That would be about a week too late.

I wonder how many of their supporters will now march in goose step obediently to the polls on November 12th. That's when their party leaders have told them that they should win.

McCain unfortunately has to do the press' job of vetting Obama since they wont do it. There is information in every corner of the internet about Ayers, Rezko, Odinga from Kenya, ACORN, his birth certificate, the New Party, on and on.

The press could not be bothered. They are up in Alaska looking for anything they can use against Palin.

Yes, the conservatives don't want a socialist, far left president who we know nothing about, elected.

Obama has been vetted for roughly 2 yrs now.. Every inch of his life has been exposed.

The two that are not vetted are 1) Palin, who no one really knows, including Jn McCain, and 2) McCain and his health records.

If McCain didn't want people focused on Alaska, he should have vetted Palin in a normal, natural way; however, the McCain soon found out, after bringing her on the ticket, that she's a neophyte and not ready for any serious political office. (her Alaskan administration has been a joke. She displaced people on her cabinet to hire her high-school friends. Palin is a joke of a politician, clearly bad for America.)

Too bad America can't be a real democracy and free like we are with 4 or 5 parties sharing power,
Perhaps someday you will be a modern up to date free country.

Why are you so pompous? I don't see you contributing anything to the conversation, just gloating about how wonderful your life is and your 7 figure income. Go talk to yourself in a mirror.

I am not gloating , I am trying to tell you America could be just as modern and up to date if you had a majority of people that were intelligent ........thats not the case.

BTW, I voted for Obama as an Independent this past week via absentee ballot.

Then why does Beatrix have to appoint a mediator to declare who will be the Prime Minister?

If you don't live in the US, why the f*** do you care what happens here? And why do feel the necessity to come here and "gloat"? Oh, I get it, to compensate for something else you have been shortchanged on.

Since 1980, the Republicans have shown that they know how to achieve near-total power, fall and regroup, and then rise again. When they are at their highest, they clearly have a national party structure which is very centralized and greatly buttressed by the control they have over the media (message management).

I have been convinced that the Party never had any intention of winning this election....for many reasons, not least of which was the choice of candidates. We have a man like McCain, who has never been very popular among party bonzen or the foot soldiers. We have Palin......a clearly terrible choice by any standards. We've also seen most of the GOP message makers/pundits/etc. jump ship early and thoroughly. That would have never happened before.

Allowing the Democrats to win this year would give the Republicans all the chances they need for deflecting blame for the myriad ills with which we are faced. Four more years in power would destroy the GOP for the next generation, and I think they know that very well. What really scares me is that once the Democrats are in charge, we on the left will fall asleep AGAIN and not hold them accountable.

You may have been right, if Hillary Clinton had become the Democrats' nominee.

But I bet, the Reps simply didn't expext Barack Obama to make it. And they NEVER foresaw the enthusiasm ans desire for change, that is moving his base.

These people will move MOUNTAINS to change this country for the better again!

Barack Obama is of a different matter than common politicians are. He can't be measured with common scales.

Barack Obama is a one-in-a-century-politician: Like 18th- century-George Washington, 19th-century-Abraham Lincoln and 20th-century-Franklin Delano Roosevelt were.

This election is more than a usual election.

This is a change of paradigms.

The Reps have miscalculated badly.

And now they'll reap what they sow...
