Palin Hockey Game Booed

E&P reports that Sarah Palin was greeted with a chorus of boos at the Philadelphia Flyers game where she dropped the puck at the Flyers' opener:

You never know where you are gonna find a political scoop, but Lynn Zinser at her NYT hockey "Slapshot" blog just posted that Sarah Palin, in her much-ballyhooed appearance dropping the puck at the Philly Flyers' opener, was greeted by "resounding (almost deafening) boos from the Flyers crowd."

The biggest problem: when Palin came out to onto the Wachovia Center ice Saturday night -- greeted by resounding (almost deafening) boos from the Flyers crowd -- the the two hockey players who had no choice but to appear with her in that photo op were turned into props in a political campaign.

I never appreciated hockey so much in my life!! "Trashy Palin" needs to stop pimping those kids!! She's ALWAYS got them with her. Photo-op purposes, only. Can't she afford a babysitter? Maybe the teenage daughter?

Oh, this is wicked, wicked fun. This event was reported widely on the New York news stations, but I don't remember them playing the video with the sound turned up. There was no booing from where we sat in our living room. It's nice to see and hear the truth.

Since Governor Palin's church believes you can "Pray The Gay Away," maybe she could apply that same concept and "Shoo The Boos With Booze." That's when you drink so much that you don't give a doggone darn what people think of you.

And speaking of people who are in denial about who they truly are, perhaps Governor Palin would do well to search YouTube for a fella called "Maybe Gay Ray."

My brother and sister-in-law were at the game. They told me that the booing was overwhelming and that this video does not convey what it sounded like at the Wachovia Center.

The most important thing about this video is that PA is a key battleground state and the suburbs of Philadelphia hold the key to the state. The people that go to Flyers games are those individuals that live in those suburbs.

Sounds to me like an Obama victory.

I might take up watching sports. Thanks, Philadelphia! Watching McCain, Palin, Mrs. McCain in Virginia Beach on C-Span after watching Obama's speech in Toledo. What a difference in both the crowd and the candidates! Obama, once again, talking about specifics and what we need to do to recover here in America. His supporters listening carefully to his explanations and cheering on his specific proposals. One instance of booing was quelled in a heartbeat when Obama said, "We don't need any of that." Wow. The whole thing inspired hope and offered a way out. Then it was McCain's turn. It was same-old, same-old: vague promises and assurances, accusations, trolling for applause, and phony flattery. Again, a clear picture of an unthinking mob. McCain said nothing when the crowd screamed "Nobama", in contrast to the immediate and effective dispatching of such behavior by Obama in Toledo. No wonder Philadelphia booed Palin.

This is a bit sad, but upon the heels of her Troopergate responses, and general rabble rousing, not unexpected.

The Troopergate report is worth reading--it puts her denials in true perspective. She was found guilty of abusing her power:

Here is a link to the actual findings, in their entirety, for those who are interested:

When's the next home game? Her handlers are so dumb they could probably set that up. I'd pay to be there for that experience. Thank you Philadelphia. True American patriots.

It seems like so many of you missed the point here. Arguing and bickering if this is beneath huffpo, or 50-50 outcries and so on, and so forth.

It was the Mac team that politicised a sporting event, two players and wanted positive publicity for it, and the owner allowed it due to his own political persuasion. I doubt if Mrs. O. was a hockey fan, she would have been invited. Mrs. O. is a soccer-mom, but as of yet, try to exploit her children or that fact.

Huffpo, rightly reports the News that others like Fo x and or C nn, were waiting for. The positive overwhelming applause they thought Sarah would receive, as She dressed her younger child in a flyer's team-jersey in an effort to attract admiration from the crowd/fans. Obviously, if either child wore a rangers team-jersey, it would have been all bad.

One last observation, I used to be an announcer up at RCSP. From that experience I can tell you truthfully, hearing the boos as plainly as were heard on this video from the cam, only means they were terrible from the center of the stadium. The mike picks up the boos & cheers unequal in a stadium. The treble yeas are louder than the bass boos.

Everything Palin does now is a political move because of the nature of the game. Palin says she was shocked the crowd booed her child -- but Sarah sweetie, no one was paying attention to your children...all of that was just for you. With emotions running so high, it is irresponsible and selfish to bring a child into the center of a crowd you don't 100% own...and for what? Hoping that having a couple of your children there will protect you from the sentiments of a group of strongly Democrat hockey fans?! You really could not have expected a different outcome. Therefore I accuse you of using your children for political means, and of their emotional abuse. I am sure it shook badly them to be caught up in that. What next? A Nascar race in Calif? A WWF bout in NYC? (It will be fun for the kids, don't ya know?)

I wonder how much of Obama's campaign money was used to send his supporters to this game?
