Palin Booed At Flyers' Game (VIDEO)

E&P reports that Sarah Palin was greeted with a chorus of boos at the Philadelphia Flyers game where she dropped the puck at the Flyers' opener:

You never know where you are gonna find a political scoop, but Lynn Zinser at her NYT hockey "Slapshot" blog just posted that Sarah Palin, in her much-ballyhooed appearance dropping the puck at the Philly Flyers' opener, was greeted by "resounding (almost deafening) boos from the Flyers crowd."

The biggest problem: when Palin came out to onto the Wachovia Center ice Saturday night -- greeted by resounding (almost deafening) boos from the Flyers crowd -- the the two hockey players who had no choice but to appear with her in that photo op were turned into props in a political campaign.

Before the findings of her "abuse of power" came out on Friday Palin had lost almost 20 points in the polls. The way she has allowed the McCain camp to run the state for the past 6 weeks has turned many Conservatives off, and solidified the progressive Alaskans. The three largest political rallies in our state's history have been in the last 6 weeks, and all against Palin. The Obama rally held outside in the cold had 4 times as many attendants as the McCain rally held blocks away in the convention center with chairs.

This causes I great dilemma for me the next time I go see a Lyers v. Islanders game. I will just have to cheer for the Flyers out of respect for their fans' corageous action last night in Philadlphia, which surely will get me in big trouble here at home on Long Island. Philadelphia hockey fans are tough, but they also represent the very type of individuals that McCain and Palin need and they desperately need Pennsylvania, and a lot of Pennsylvanians watched that game. Seeing those people booing her, and doing so as soundly as I have ever seen, should alert them to the fact that they need to protect their vote, and make sure that their vote for Obama is counted correctly.

Seeing this kind of display in a must-win state should rattle them to the bones.

Obama had 4 rallies in Philly Saturday morning. Palin definitely picked the wrong day to make her appearance!! We still had hope and unity on our minds; there was no room for the McCain-Palin message of fear and division.

A friend of mine is from Philly and a hockey fan. His brothers were at the game, and they attend frequently, and they reported to him that nothing on TV could have relayed the deep animosity and just downright distaste, which is a nice way of putting it, which was in that crowd for Palin.

They reported they had never, ever heard the boos that strong, prolonged, and directed at a woman in their life, even a politician. That bodes poorly for Palin and McCain, since the people they desperately need in Pennsylvania come from the hockey fans and sports fans and the middle class, who have been devastated in that state.
