ABC: "Palin Makes Troopergate Assertions That Are Flatly False"

ABC's Political Punch:

On Saturday, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin twice spoke to reporters about the so-called "Troopergate" scandal and the investigative report on whether she had abused her power in trying to get her sister's ex-husband Mike Wooten fired as a state trooper, and for firing Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan one year after she, her staffers, and her husband Todd began unsuccessfully pressuring Monegan to let Wooten go.

Palin spoke on the phone with Alaska reporters about the report. The McCain-Palin campaign only allowed one question per reporter. The journalists came from the Anchorage Daily News, KTVA-Channel 11 and KTUU-Channel 2. No follow-ups were allowed.

I just listened to palin's so called interview with local Alaskan news people, I've never heard someone lie that much in such a short period of time and not actually have their pants catch fire.

In the interview she said over and over how she was cleared of ethical and legal wrongdoings. What made me nearly swallow my tongue was when palin told a reporter ( who was NOT allowed to ask follow up questions), she and McSame have been taking the "High Road" in this campaign, "Unlike our opponent".­.... Even through the computer, I could smell palin's pants beginning to smolder with that doozy.

What bothers me about this pathetic interview is this; none of the reporters were allowed follow-up questions so none of her OBVIOUS lies went left unchallenged. To some, that is as if she is telling the truth. And. she isn't telling the truth!

Well that would be why no one is allowed to ask follow up - or why she wont have a press conference - or why she only has "interviews" with Fox news right wing hatemongerers - she did used to be allowed to talk to softball lobbing "interviewers" but when even Katie Couric made her look stupid, its down to approved "interviews" with Hannity and that is it.

I honestly don't know why the media covers them at all. If they spat at me I would say - you want to hide her - fine - NO stories except negative ones.

For those of you who don't know or don't remember (or are too young for either), Arthur Ashe, a Black native-born Richmonder, was a star tennis player who unfortunately contracted AIDS from a blood transfusion and died. As a native son and athletic hero, the Arthur Ashe Center, a popular Richmond venue hall, was built in his honor.

I guess the Rethugs got cold feet once someone actually THOUGHT about where she was scheduled to speak, and decided to move her... hmm??? Methinks it hilarious!

The really most egregious part of all this is that it is not just about the lies, the ethics violations but the fact that here you have 2 elected officials who are promoting hate. They took an oath of office to protect the citiizens and yes it still means other elected officials. The problem with the MSM is that no one treads on this issue because it borderlines the realm of criminal. These people are fueling hate as elected officials and that alone should cause people to stand up to vote against and assail this type of behavior. If McCain claims to not condone this behavior then he should have corrected this on the onset but he did condone it. The people running his campaign are truly by far worst then Palin and they should be called out as well. McCain's camp is filled with people who promote hate.
