When will Hollywood learn,

In fly-over country, nobody wants to see an "America as the Enemy" films, especially during wartime. Every one of these pictures have bombed, and they just keep making more.

If anyone did a good old fashioned John Wayne style, American Hero in Iraq film, it would be HUGE.

Of course, all the artists affiliated with such a film, would never "do lunch" again.

I admit it I went to see "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" Sunday afternoon!!!!
I laughed and laughed and laughed and even laughed at the lame stuff and GOSH DARN it felt GOOD!
My children are grown so I rarely go to these type movies.

Right now with America on tenterhooks over an election that still has way too many
IF's... AND's... or BUT's I would be hard pressed to watch anything that I would have to concentrate on.MSNBC,CNBC,and CSPAN make me think too much as it is.

Right now we need to ESCAPE because our REALITY come Nov 5th may be very sobering and the only thing I want to be sobering is ME after a bottle of champagne celebrating President Obama and Vice President Biden's landslide win!

a little light entertainment, some laughs is just what people need in the midst of all this darkness, ugliness going on now.
Just like I come to the entertainment section of HP while looking at the news/politics just to get some comic relief I understand going to these movies.

In fact, maybe I'll go.
Gawd, I need a laugh.

Nothing new. This always happens when we have an ineffectual president and our great nation is teetering on the brink of economic ruin.

I'm SO tired of movies that make it look like the U.S. police, U.S. military and the U.S. government are out there doing all these 'good' things. We all know, or SHOULD know, that these are all enemies of all the people on the planet who are just trying to live their lives without becoming a part of, or being ceaselessly manipulated by, these same police, military and government organizations.

One flick looks depressing, the other looks childish. Who wants to see either?

let's be cute! forget about a movie that might actually have some relevance to the world in which we live... cute is sooooooooo like much easier to like totally digest. Not to mention i can completely relate to jittery, inbred chihuahuas trained to obey commands in the hope that I'll get a treat to make myself feel good about following all the rules. I mean, like, c'mon! It's the thing to do, ya know... Why else would I take anti-depressants? It's not that I'm unhappy with my life, i was simply born inferior. Get with it!

If you love animals, go see BHC. Went with friends unaccompanied by children and loved the movie. I have recommended it over and over again. Very light, very entertaining and Jamie Lee Curtis looks great!

Palin supporters who scream "kill him!" at rallies in response to her inciting language regarding Obama, and those who smile and nod in sympathy should be the ones seeing "The Express," since they haven't evolved at all since 1959.

"Body of Lies" suffers from an unfortunate title that reflects on the obfuscation of our Constitution by the Bush Administration. Society as a whole is experiencing extreme Bush fatigue according to the latest popularity numbers, which place him exactly one point ahead of Nixon at the time of his resignation.

Still, third-place for "Body of Lies" in a down economy is not as bad as the trackers make it out to be. There is still ancillary markets overseas and dvd rentals.

Ha, ha - I just saw Beverly Hills Chihuahua, and I thought I was guiltily sneaking off for a little break from my own personal financial challenge. I didn't know I was participating in a box office phenomenon!

Btw, the movie was cute and funny with a dash of adventure, and the German shepard Delgado was quite a moving character - sort of a Humphrey Bogart of the dog world:-)

It was good escapist fare, and it shows that people are sick of bad news, sick of political garbage from both sides.

I would recommend Body of Lies. It was a great film. Leo and Russell turned in great performances. It definitely speaks to the incompetence that we have in the White House!

That it wasn't number one says that people just aren't into seeing this kind of thing right now...if times were better, maybe it would be Number One.
