Hillary Speech Ashes Of Bushes

In a passionate speech introducing Joe Biden at a campaign rally in Scranton, Pennsylvania this afternoon, Hillary Clinton gave a strong endorsement to Barack Obama by celebrating the end of the Bush administration, shouting:

"Make no mistake about it. We've done it before and we will do it again. America will once again rise from the ashes of the Bushes."

It's the second time in the last week that she's used the dramatic line - last Monday, she said that "America can rise again as we have before from the ashes of the Bushes" in a forceful speech at the 8th Annual Eleanor Roosevelt Legacy Committee Luncheon in New York City.

This afternoon, she also slammed John McCain and the Bush administration's response to the financial crisis, criticizing them for bailing out large companies while "millions of people are losing their homes and jobs every single day! Where's their bailout?"

And she said that sending Republicans back to Washington to clean up the economic mess was like "sending a bull to clean up the china closet. They broke it and we're not buying it anymore."

Biden, demonstrating again that he is the Obama campaign's pit bull, slammed the McCain campaign's recent attacks that focused on Obama's association with Bill Ayers, accusing the Republican candidate of "relying on political stunts instead of offering solutions" and calling McCain "erratic."

The Democratic vice-presidential nominee shook his head as he noted "the ugly inferences and unbecoming personal attacks that have been directed and launched by the McCain campaign."

And he mocked Sarah Palin's record of questioning how much of a role man-made causes had to do with global warming: "How the heck are you going to solve a problem if you don't know what's causing it?"

When is Michelle Obama going to campaign ?

Michelle campaigns when she can, but unlike some narcissistic hockey mom booed the other night in Philly, (LOVE those Flyers fans!) Michelle actually puts her young children first.

My favorite line of hers went something like this: to Bush and McCain the middle class aren't fundamental, they're ornamental.

She was rockin' yesterday (as were Bill and Joe)! So glad they streamed it live a the Obama/Biden site, MSNBC and CSPAN.

How many multitudes of difficulty will cleaning up after Bush 43 be than it was Bush 41?

Maybe Obama could have co-secretaries of each cabinet department. I don't think any single person could clean up the shell of a nation these people will leave.

Plus you've got to remember that 43 is 41 doubled. Factor that in. Add the multiplier of the 4,000 plus dead who might still be productive members of American society but for 43. It's horrifying

Hillary still is the most polished politician in America. When she gave that speech at the convention she didn't miss a beat or stutter a word. She never does. I wonder what hillary wants now, we all know she would have been a great president.

She probably wants to chair a nice juicy senate committee. like they all do. Unfortunately for her, in the senate seniority trumps all.

How about she gets the first open chair on the Supreme Court? She's eminently qualified, would work her butt off for the rest of us, and as a bonus it would make so many right wing heads explode they'd hear it on the ISS.

Let's not question her motives, and just be grateful for her actions. However, I see nothing wrong with Obama giving her a Cabinet position.

Great, great, language from Senator Clinton.

Please share this new info:

"It seemed manifestly unfair to tar him with this association," Ibershof said in a telephone interview this weekend from his home in Mill Valley. "Sen. Obama had known Ayers during a period he was named Citizen of the Year in Chicago, not when he was committing those terrorist acts."

Who is William C. Ibershof? Why, he's the prosecutor who prosecuted Ayers.

I guess the McCain/Palin believe in Christian precepts but not redemption. Bill Ayers reinvented himself, but John McCain hasn't done the same to any convincing degree. Let us not list the ways McCain and Palin have fallen from grace.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:23 AM on 10/13/2008

Well, if they don't believe in redemption, what does that mean for Bristol Palin?

Guess all of Chicago needs to be indicted, right? Why has the Citizen of the Year in Chicago not been noted by the MSM?

Obama to McCain: I knew Ayers when he was citizen of the year in Chicago; when did you know Keating?

Hillary Clinton speaks with conviction and constitution. Sarah Palie-n speaks with -(Gosh, they say you can fool some of the people some of time) I hope I am fooling them now, You betcha I find some and get right back to Ya.

When I heard Palin using her folksy terms at the VP debate I thought to myself ...
"They're still treating us like idiots, as the entire world, watches."

Seeing Hillary yesterday was so refreshing. Her speech was eloquent, intelligent, and empowering. I walked away feeling understood and respected. That's the government that I'll be VOTING for on Nov 4th!

Think Hillary's speech, both content and delivery, didn't point out Palin's glaring inadequacies? Sure did. You betcha.

Although I was for Obama during the primaries, I strongly think that there should be a prominent position for Hillary in the Obama administration.

I personally like her to be a supreme court justice - that way she will have long-term impact on the country's future.

I clearly agree. Hillary is the perfect choice for Supreme Court Justice. However, I've also heard Attorney General. Either way, she would be perfect, and all of us would be behind it all the way

I think that Sauter would remain long enough for Hillary to get some experience as AG. Then there would be no question about her ability to serve on the court.

Me too... And me too... If not the Supreme Court, then some other very prominent position. She's earned it. Though the question remains: What does she want? Perhaps it's to remain in the Senate. But for some reason, I doubt that.

She needs to give Reed the boot and be the Senate Majority Leader.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:31 AM on 10/13/2008

she could do a great deal of good picking up where ever dear old teddy kennedy is called to leave off. that role would be a mighty important one to fill, as ted has been the senator most like a supreme court justice, in terms of long term impact. she'll know what to do...and she'll get whatever she wants, shy of the presidency.

Hillary is short and does not have good legs. She does what everyone else does to hide her physical weaknesses. The long robe will be flattering. Too bad it has to be black. Like Katie Couric, that is not a flattering color for her.

I posted these links to articles about Hillary a few hours ago, so I apologize for being repititous, but I hope everyone reads them. My earlier post was: Wow! Joe Biden really sung Hillary's praises: he starts with "the reason I love this woman" and goes from there. The article is called "Biden Contrasts Clinton and Palin".
