Hillary Speech Ashes Of Bushes

In a passionate speech introducing Joe Biden at a campaign rally in Scranton, Pennsylvania this afternoon, Hillary Clinton gave a strong endorsement to Barack Obama by celebrating the end of the Bush administration, shouting:

"Make no mistake about it. We've done it before and we will do it again. America will once again rise from the ashes of the Bushes."

It's the second time in the last week that she's used the dramatic line - last Monday, she said that "America can rise again as we have before from the ashes of the Bushes" in a forceful speech at the 8th Annual Eleanor Roosevelt Legacy Committee Luncheon in New York City.

This afternoon, she also slammed John McCain and the Bush administration's response to the financial crisis, criticizing them for bailing out large companies while "millions of people are losing their homes and jobs every single day! Where's their bailout?"

And she said that sending Republicans back to Washington to clean up the economic mess was like "sending a bull to clean up the china closet. They broke it and we're not buying it anymore."

Biden, demonstrating again that he is the Obama campaign's pit bull, slammed the McCain campaign's recent attacks that focused on Obama's association with Bill Ayers, accusing the Republican candidate of "relying on political stunts instead of offering solutions" and calling McCain "erratic."

The Democratic vice-presidential nominee shook his head as he noted "the ugly inferences and unbecoming personal attacks that have been directed and launched by the McCain campaign."

And he mocked Sarah Palin's record of questioning how much of a role man-made causes had to do with global warming: "How the heck are you going to solve a problem if you don't know what's causing it?"

all throughout the primary, michelle obama was front and center...she was just exquisite in her advocacy for her husband and the possibilities for a brighter future....my guess is that either the media are focusing more on the candidates themselves and less on surrogates or they have michelle not as front and center to avoid any missteps that the msm media/right wing media or mccain camp will pounce on...however, she was on larry king and daily show just in the last week insofar as media appearances...

hey... I am an ardent Obama supporter... but I don't want her out campaigning... she needs to be at home with Malia and Sasha.... unlike Palin... it would be nice to see a mom leave her kids in one place and have them in bed at a decent hour

No one NEEDS to do anything...
So Michelle's place is in the home while Obama is free to roam?
I think Michelle herself rejects that notion, in that she makes certain Obama is as involved in child rearing as she is...

This notion that Michelle NEEDS to be home is antiquated cr-p from the 50s.

This was one amazing rally. Hillary's speech was on fire. The affection between Hillary and Biden was touching. Biden even went off-script, told them to hold the prompter and spoke from his heart about Hillary. Really made me see her in a different light after the rancor of the primaries. I can't honestly say all is forgiven but she is out there doing her best to help not just Obama win, but the country to win some hope of of undoing the damage of the last eight years. This event today may just change minds and votes in Scranton.

Let's put to rest for good how much Hillary knows that Obama is much closer to her beliefs on so many issues than either Mack or Palin.

I am a Kucinich guy.
I did not care if Hillary or Obama won the primary. Either of them are too conservative for me.

But Hillary's speech in Denver reminded me about the cause.
And for the cause, I work for Obama. And I send money to Hillary.

I'm a Kucinich person too. His analysis of the bailout was right on. But of course, it was too "left".
Even so, I love Obama-he is destiny in action. A world leader. But atta-girl Hillary. She has proven herself a great lady.

The thing you have to love about the Clintons, is that they were both VERY INTELLIGENT people, who had enough sense to select INTELLIGENT PEOPLE to work with. Bush on the other hand, chose the good 'ole RICH BOYS club as his advisors.. and if he did accidentally happen to get a smart one on board, he of course wouldn't listen to their advice and they would wind up resigning...

SAD, but TRUE...

You never, ever get the feeling she's in over her head. With Palin, you always feel she's in over her head.

Hillary was the most formidable opponent Obama has had in this election cycle, not McCain.

Hillary really did make O a better candidate.
AND Hillary's speech in Denver was really great.
Bill's was good, but I thought Hill's was better.

If O wins, I hope he has some special thanks for both Clintons.
In my book he owes them.

Sarah has some insight on religion, which she cannot even apply to herself correctly. But what she knows is powerful if you want to use it to destroy someone. Sarah has found herself even using the power of religion has come up short to destroy Obama. Because she is turning that same judgment of religion on herself.

I will say it again: Palin would still be shooting wolves from airplanes in the backwoods of Alaska if Hillary had won or VP...her rise was exactly due to Repub desire to wrest Hillary's supporters from Obama...unfortunately, it all has backfired as it becomes more and more apparent that Palin is a train wreck.

Maybe she's in school? Either way, it's not pertinent to McCain's electability. I'm sure they love all their kids, adopted or not, just the same. Bigger fish to fry.

Not quite. The McCains parade their Aryan children around and keep Bridget under wraps. She is missing from many family photos. I read somewhere that she doesn't get the same inheritance as the biological children.

Mother Teresa would not be pleased.

Not. They used them as stage props at the Repug convention. The one that came as the "package" that C indy brought home was looking like a stepford child. They have fully exploited them throughout this campaign. They bring them out and hide them as necessary.

Hey biglover, she is hidden in plain sight. I wondered too, but saw her in a group photo this week out at the edge of the photo. Most media houses using the picture will crop out the people at the sides and focus on the people in the centre of the picture to get a more striking image. It is easy to hide or get a focus on something when you understand how photo editors work.
