McCain Rally Minister: Non-Christians Praying For Obama

Why is John McCain in Iowa when polls show him trailing? Will he again defend his opponent Barack Obama from personal attacks as he did Friday? What is his response to an Alaska legislative report charging his running mate Sarah Palin with abuse of power?

Iowa Independent's John Deeth was live at McCain's Saturday morning event in Davenport. The Republican nominee insists he'll win Iowa, but had no comment about the Palin report. Nearly half the speech was attacks on Obama, but those were mostly issue based, and while the audience was a-hootin' and a-hollerin, no explicit Obama attacks were overheard.

Before McCain's arrival, a minister delivering an invocation said, "There are plenty of people around the world who are praying to their god, be they Hindu, Buddah, or Allah, that (McCain's) opponent wins. I pray that you step forward and honor your own name."

Judged by their words or their ACTIONS, many "radical fundamentalist Christians" appear as non-Christian as any atheist. They seem to ignore or cherry-pick the teachings of Jesus Christ such as humility and the beatitudes, skip straight to "you are with us or against us," proclaim themselves the true and righteous "faithful" (pharisees, anyone?), and call down a strong dose of Old Testament "wrath of God" on the rest of mankind.
Christians should disown those who link their faith with hatred, greed, and violence, for that never was the way of Jesus.

If McCain really has a problem with offensive things speakers are doing to warm up his crowds he should more thoroughly screen them, instead of putting anybody on the stage and apologizing later. Of course I think his campaign knows very well what these people are going to say, campaigns are very tightly scripted.

This minister is no more a Christian then Satan. Christians do not question another persons Christianity. Christianity is a matter between you and God. No other human should question anothers faith.

This would be funny if it wasn't so stupid.

It is true that people around the world ARE hoping that Obama is elected, and it has NOTHING to do with religion. It is because he is perceived as a decent human being, who represents generations of Americans with decent reputations.

As a people, we have alwys been respected, and our parents and grandparents stood up for what's right. When the wolf growled at the door, Americans would suit up and show up, and as JFK said "bear any burden and pay any cost."

Unlike the idiots who have failed to represent "We the People", and have gone out of their way to make us look like second-class, 3rd world goobers, tortured people, insulted other world cultures and their leaders...

For some reason when the GOP has a truly talented, intelligent, and principled potential candidate, that person doesn't ever get close to being in the White House.

No, I won't name any....

A demonic spirit's favorite activity is making a person feel religious without an understanding of the Word of God. Beware of false religions.

" These lies are only a pattern of how McCain would run his administration. They have no problem lying to the American people."

According to the Western Hindu Centre, www.westernhindu.com there are over 300 million Hindu Gods, but all of them are the same God. The center"s website says that they are "Celebrating Polytheistic Monotheism" which I imagine is kinda like the concept of the Trinity. Hinduism has been around for over 6,000 years. 2,000 years longer than Christianity. That figure is only the earliest written texts. The teachings were part of an oral tradition going back even further. Heck, the Buddha started out as a Hindu. Guru Nanak, founder of the Sikh Religion, was raised as a Hindu. Golly, the Hindu texts even make mention of a boy arriving with his family from the West who grew to be a fine Guru before returning to his own people around 30 A.D.. He is venerated as a reincarnation of Lord Krishna who was a shepherd and keeper of cattle. I am stunned at the complete lack of understanding shown by certain members of the Christian Faith. For a new kid on the block they sure like to think they have a lot of weight to throw around. It must really be a bummer not having the Roman Army to enforce your will anymore. And gosh, no more Inquisitions or Witch burnings. What a downer. Just think if every Hindu Deity votes for Sen. Obama then America surely will be on the path to decency. Good luck, Mel Goetia

A Christian minister is saying that there is more than one god?? Hmmm. Isnt that a bit contrary to the republican 'platform'??

Good morning trolls. Glad to see you cute furry creatures up and about. Now, please go back to your neighborhood. Why do you think posting here is going to change the way we feel either about Obama, McCain or Palin? All you do is verify your scary bias. You really are wasting your time ion this site.

OCTOBER 13, 2008:

With just over three weeks until Election Day, the two presidential nominees appear to be on opposite trajectories, with Sen. Barack Obama gaining momentum and Sen. John McCain stalled or losing ground on a range of issues and personal traits, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Overall, Obama is leading 53 percent to 43 percent among likely voters, and for the first time in the general-election campaign, voters gave the Democrat a clear edge on tax policy and providing strong leadership.

McCain better do well in Wednesday's debate. That is, if he still has enough common sense in him to turn things around and be consistent with a single message.
