Chimp, White Tiger Become Best Friends (PHOTOS)

THIS cute chimp isn't just a primate - she is this baby tiger's BEST mate.

Loving Anjana cradles the white tiger cub after acting as surrogate mother to him and his twin brother.

And the two-year-old chimpanzee clearly isn't monkeying around, she has also raised LEOPARDS and LIONS.

Why do Americans always refer to apes as 'monkeys'?

Education is really not a priority over there.

Because we are so rarely told from a young age what a monkey is. I think the approach of stating repeatedly what constitutes an ape has failed. People need to learn what a monkey is before it will be driven home just what it is that a monkey is not.

Actually the statement "Monkey see monkey do" is a saying referring to any type of "Aping Behavior" - much like the way we Americans have now changed our pronunciation of nuCLEar to nuCLUar because of King George Bush - It really should be no-CLUE-ar. I

won't dispute the education issue - again, thanks to King George who has destroyed our government in all aspects including education - he has singlehanded added more to the dumbing down of America than any other individual in history. The fact that any crowds are showing up to the McCain/Palin rallies are testimony to the sheer ignorance of our country. And, the fact that those crowds are yelling "kill him" or "off with his head" makes it even more clear we live in an ignorant country - and now you know why King George has sought to keep people ignorant - it's the only way Republicans can now get elected.

A full grown chimpanzee is a very formidable animal. The ones we see on TV are young chimps. As adults they get very big, very strong and very mean.

Yeah, who is the bright guy who titled this story?? Monkeys have prehensile tails (new world monkeys) and primates not monkeys are called APES...

Chimpanzees are as much monkeys as we humans are. Biologically both chimpanzees (they don't like being called chimps) and humans are hominoids or in common parlance apes. We're all primates, but lets get our biological bearings straight.
