Editor and Publisher:

Barack Obama picked up at least 15 newspaper endorsements this weekend, including six in swing states Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina and Missouri. John McCain, as far as we know, gained none.

The Wisconsin State Journal and The Sun of San Bernardino had backed Bush in 2004. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch called Obama's opponent, John McCain, "the incredible shrinking man" who had made a horrific pick for his running mate.

Backing Obama: In Ohio, The Blade in Toledo and the Dayton Daily News; the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, The Tennessean of Nashville, the Wisconsin State Journal. the Asheville (N.C.) Citizen-Times, and in California the Fresno Bee, Sacramento Bee, Contra Costa Times, The Herald of Monterrey, and The Sun of San Bernardino (which had picked Bush over Kerry).

I have never been a political person, certainly not "politically active" in my 59 years
i voted...but never before contributed to a campaign..
until this year..
I have repeatedly contributed to Obama
and today found a way to contribute to ALL Dems in important races
if you are also so inclined, go here:

Actually, you forget to mention that Senator McCain received the FIRST Newspaper endorsement of this Election Season, from the Boston Herald. Just sayin'.

I grew up in Ohio, so I sent a note to each of the Ohio papers to say how much I appreciated the endorsements. This morning I received a note back from the Toledo Blade, asking for permission to print my email. Excellent!

I celebrate every small thing I can do to support Ohio turning BLUE!

Well, this is yet further proof that you can have confidence in a leader's plans when newspapers such as this endorse them. LOL. McCain and no papers supporting him. Now the Right will get a taste of their own medicine and see how they like being marginalised like Liberals were in 2000 on election night and in the Iraq war when Fox news did what they did.

In the matter of the endorsement of the San Bernardino Sun. Perhaps it has
something to do with the charges of Voter Fraud going on in the area. See
the link below to the San Bernardino Sun to read the details

I wonder if the Bush Department of Justice will be there anytime soon to
investigate the possible Republican fraud. I am sure they are really busy just now.

I'm orginally from St.Louis. Read about the St. Louis Post-Dispatch endorsement last night. I was pleasantly surprised. The Post-Dispatch cannot be described as a "liberal" newspaper. Sounds like the editorial boards of these newspapers recognize intelligence when they see it & not jumping on this ridiculous argument that being a former P.O.W/war hero qualifies you to become POTUS..

Another DUH moment. Of course Obama is going to get endorsed by the liberal media!

What a surprise, where is the ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN endorsement. Any prudent person who reads newspapers or watches the news would know this was coming. I can't believe McCain would get two.

Look, I think this is just great. But you need to be accurate! It says right in the story IN THE FIRST PARAGRAPH that there are 2 endorsements for McCain: 17 endorsements for Obama, 2 for McCain.
In the interest of fairness and so that huffpo doesn't appear as biased as faux news, you need to do the full disclosure!

For those that want to know, the 2 for McC were the The Wheeling News-Register in West Virginia and the Napa Valley Register in California.

And I would just like to note in a bit of historical coincidence (?) or context that Sen. Joseph McCarty launched his commie hunting (character assassination) career in a speech in Wheeling back in the 50's

In the interest of fairness it should be noted that as of Sunday night, Editor and Publisher listed zero papers for McCain, as far as they were aware, and they asked readers to let them know if there were other endorsements they should add to the list. They have since updated their page to include the two McCain endorsers. In other words, the HuffPost piece isn't failing to do "full disclosure," it's just in need of updating.

Serious question: What does this mean? Is it an indication of public opinion, or, Do people actually vote a certain way because of them?
apoyo
Micro-bio? Sounds serious.

It probably means that most of these editors are of the age to have lived thru the 60's and the national upheaval we experienced and the tragedies that we endured and they don't want a repeat.

An absolute must read: Obama's new plan.....This is what I'm talking about!
A leader, a President who is steady, confident, self-assured, and comes out with well thought out ideas. Unlike McCain, who throws together these useless gimmicks.

What McCainasaurus doesn't get,is that all this unbearable crap that he's putting out,WORKED for Shrub!!! And even against him!! So he is forced by circumstances(and perhaps preference) to repeat history, over and over. You know what they say about people who refuse to learn the lessons of history---they are condemned to repeat it.

Let's hope and work toward getting enough support for Obama that all the underhanded tampering ploys in the GOP bag of tricks won't be able to come close to stealing this election, too!
12:06 PM on 10/13/2008
*Points finger at McCain* Ahahaha!

Sorry, had to do it . . .

Please fix the headline. E&P has updated its article to reflect that McCain has picked up two endorsements and Obama 16. To those following your link, Huffpost's headline saying McCain has zero looks like a Palinism--a blatant and obvious lie.

Relax Eggman. They didn't know about the 2 measly papers when they did the original story. SHEEEESHHH

Sheesh yourself.

The article has been updated so HP should update their article and headline.

What's up with HP leaving stories out of date and even leaving stories with blatant mistakes uncorrected?
