Time:

If John McCain is as serious as he says about running a "respectful" campaign against an opponent he considers "a decent person," word hasn't yet trickled down to his newly opened storefront field office in Gainesville, Virginia. ...

With so much at stake, and time running short, Frederick did not feel he had the luxury of subtlety. He climbed atop a folding chair to give 30 campaign volunteers who were about to go canvassing door to door their talking points -- for instance, the connection between Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden: "Both have friends that bombed the Pentagon," he said. "That is scary." It is also not exactly true -- though that distorted reference to Obama's controversial association with William Ayers, a former 60s radical, was enough to get the volunteers stoked. "And he won't salute the flag," one woman added, repeating another myth about Obama. She was quickly topped by a man who called out, "We don't even know where Senator Obama was really born." Actually, we do; it's Hawaii.

If John McCain is sincere about changing the tone of his campaign he should call a joint press conference with Jeff Frederick where 1) they both apologize 2) McCain accepts Frederick's resignation 3) McCain calls on his staff, surrogates, supporters and volunteers to run the respectful campaign he promised.

Anything less than that is a wink and a nod from McCain. Unless and until McCain speaks out, these kind of tactics reflect upon McCain's leadership failings as much as they do on the individuals using these dishonest and divisive tactics.

Since there is no comparison, what it the point.
They are both tall.

This guy looks more like Bin Laden than does Obama. How do we know he doesn't have Bin Laden's blood running through his veins, just look at him!

Well I would like to say as a person that comes from a background of different ethinc groups. I so pleased to see that not everyone in America is RACIST. People are not understanding that some of the things that the McCain campiagn is letting people say is hurting them. How do you think young Muslim children are feeling and their parents. Does anyone notice that this inciting anger toward Musilm Americans and other countries that we need to stay allies with that have Muslim Hertiage, I understand that people see the issues that it can stir up here in America, but what about overseas this is showing if McCain gets in office. Even though America states they do not believe in this, what happens if McCain is put in office how does that look to other countries. I would say bad, basically we can not have a leader that represents these lack of morals, values.

Maybe we should compare Jeffrey Fredericks, the Virginia GOP to George Wallace, Lester Maddox and Jessie Helms. If you don't recognize these names, I'm sure Wikipedia can fill you in. They were the lying, ready to hang anything not "white" bigots of the 50's, 60's, 70's and Helms even into the 80's. Sad group of southern racist politicians which I'm sure some of them at one time or another belonged to the KKK.

We don't need people like Jeffrey Fredericks in our political system today. I encourage everyone who votes in his district to show him the door!

Although Rep. John Lewis didn't wasn't referring to Fredericks, he did mention George Wallace in his comments re: McCain's rallies that got McCain all riled up today. It would be easy to draw the inference, or comparison, if one were so inclined.

No Democratic presidential candidate has carried Virginia since 1964, and most election years both campaigns pretty much ignore the state. This time, however, McCain is running behind Barack Obama in statewide polls, thanks in large part to the head start he got on the ground there. "We haven't seen a race like this in Virginia — ever," said state GOP Chairman Jeffrey M. Frederick. "The last time was 40 years ago, and they didn't run races like this."

Indeed, Frederick, a 33-year-old state legislator, hadn't even been born yet. But earlier this year Frederick unseated a moderate 71-year-old former lieutenant governor (who also happens to be Jenna Bush's father-in-law) to become head of the Virginia GOP, promising "bold new leadership" for a state party recently on the decline. ----------------------------------So this guy unseated Jenna Bush's father-in-law-,for GOP in Virginia? You thinK Fredericks ,who's head of the Hispanic REPUBLICANS ISN'T FULL OF IT?

Yeah, sure it is, huckleberry.

The republicans have no policy they can talk about or stand by so they have to drum up scandals. Pretty pathetic, really. What I find really amazing is that the semi-racist lies they are trying to weave do not raise any red flags or soul searching in their own minds (i.e. "Oh my God, what are we doing? What have we become?"). This completely amoral party has done such a good job of weaving the myth that they are the party of morals, that they are in complete disarray now that their lies are no longer working.

Hey Republicans, you might want to try the truth once in a while. I know it will feel odd at first, but after a while you'll see--it'll really pay-off for you.

This picture and the video of the monkey man at the rally. This type of Republican makes me want to take a shower. They are ruining/have ruined the Republican party for the next 30 years.

Looking at this photo I was reminded of a saying my mom would always use when trying to describe a person like this, "He looks like he'd steal a widow-woman's ducks."

I've been pondering this face since yesterday, and I don't mean to insult the little critters, but it's very rat-like.

I think the visual characteristic is a pre-requisite for being a back-stabbing fascist propaganda monkey.

Since the 60s, Republicans have been the "Dr. Smith"s of politics.
