McCain Camp Flips Again: New Economic Proposals Tomorrow

Despite a top surrogate's suggestion over the weekend that McCain would be unveiling new economic proposals, we learned this morning that in fact John McCain wasn't planning to announce anything of this kind today.

Now it turns out the whole plan all along was for McCain to offer new proposals. Tomorrow, that is.

That's what the McCain campaign just announced on a conference call with reporters moments ago, a few hours -- coincidentally, we're sure -- after Obama made headlines with proposals of his own.

This may be like the four principals Obama defined for the Bailout plan. The next day McCain spouted off a near clone of Obama's plan!

So be prepared to see a near copy of the Plan Obama put forward today!

No surprise here. McCain HAD TO WAIT for Barack to unveil his new economic policy FIRST so that he can COPY from it. Guaranteed. He and his campaign do not have any new ideas.

OK let's bet.

I'll see you one "cut capital gains tax" and raise you two "cut taxes on dividends."

The GOP House leadership is already out in front on these, and those poor guys don't yet get that talking about capital gains taxes to people who have no capital and have gained nothing, just isn't going to get them any votes. And reducing taxes on dividends for stock owners is great except MOST Americans are worrying about food, gas prices and hanging onto their jobs. (um, earth to GOP -- most Americans don't live off portfolios, they live off paychecks).

Obama's program today addressed the critical issues, so McCain either be an echo or go down the "here's what our rich friends need" road.
