The only change of message that could make a different in this race is if the Republicans take out McCain and Palin and replace them with any 2 other candidates. Those new candidates will at least be seen as fresh and not have the racial dividing baggage and outrageous lie and scandal a minute that is sinking their party. Switch the messengers. They don't have a message at this point. Too late to start one now. They sure are right about 'change is coming' though!

I have so enjoyed watching Republicans lurching about en masse these last couple of weeks. Wait for the dance, it’ll be perfectly staggering! So his new reincarnation is that of the fighting underdog, but I’ve seen this movie. Didn’t Ronald Reagan star? And it was astoundingly mundane as is McBush’s campaign only without the focus.

McBush was going to announce a new economic plan today____until he wasn’t. Wait___it’s coming tomorrow. But there was an announcement that he intends to run a respectful campaign_as he looked at his wife and said, we all will. This is a guy who will not take responsibility for his actions. I guess he means to admonish his wife for behaving badly. He’s looking pretty familiar until I look at Palin_then I KNOW who is *really* familiar_only more.

Electing this duo would be like hiring drunks to inventory a liquor store. They will say ANYTHING and DO anything to get elected. And to my great surprise_and unexpected pride, by the way_my fellow Americans do not seem to be falling for their lies.

He was on CNN today saying how he's got Obama right where he wants him. Whatever that means.

What policies that you have actually read do you disagree with? Hmmm? Oh, you heard it on the radio? Then please by all means vote for the candidate whose policies match yours, if you can keep track with the flips, flops and about faces.

and i assume McCain's policies are better for you...has McCain even defined his policies, or has he just been running on the ol Maverick and POW stuff?

Wow. You must be a maverick too. Tell me, how is life clear out there on the far right wing? I know, maybe a surge will work. Yes, these colors don't run. What will the silent majority think? Will they agree with the moral majority. Read my lips! Americans are tired of Republican sloganeering. They have watched their earning power go down as the neocon thugs dismantled the New Deal. Our country is so mighty it took twenty five years of neocon cancer to make it sick, but now it is very ill. So what part of neocon policy do you like? Deregulation? Gee, that worked well. How about surge? W. lied to us to get us in Iraq in the first place, then blew off catching Bin Laden. Free trade? Sure, that worked great - we've only lost a bit over 4 million jobs these last four years. And $20 per barrel oil we were promised...please, tell me, what planet are you from?

It's too late now. McCain and Palin are done. They have managed to stoke the fires of racism against blacks and arab-americans, religious intolerance, ignorance, fear, and division by using lies, innuendo, and character attacks on Obama. They have managed to tick off most of American with their antics. This shows how out of touch he and that stupid Sarah Palin are.

McCain had a campaign stop in Wilmington, NC today, and it was billed as a "town hall" meeting. McCain even announced at the beginning that he'd take questions at the end. When he finished his speech, he left. Just - left. Shook a few hands on the way out, but that was it.

The "tab" on my computer cut off the title of the article and aptly reads, "McCain changes his mess...."

Rovian tactics in a time of nationwide economic decline proved to be a disaster, eh? The surge of character attacks didn't work, did they? And who is it that have shown they don't know the difference between strategy and tactic? Poor McCain!

Anyone that was paying attention saw that the politics of personal destruction backfired badly for the Hillary campaign.

I guess the McCain people were otherwise distracted.

The Republicans can't seem to learn from history.
Bay of Pigs: The people will greet us as liberators.
Iraq: The people will greet us as liberators.

i said this last week...Ayers didn't work for Hillary...Rezko didn't work for Hillary...Rev Wright didn't work...people are just hungry for change and all politicians have had some sort of "guilt by association"...i.e. KKK...so if we keep playing this guilt by associaton game we will never stick to the relevant issues. Where does Mac go from here? Palin is so scripted, what could she possibly come up with now. (besides "we're Mavericks")

In practice this just means that they will no longer *order* Obama to "Go F*** Yourself!"

Instead, they will *request* Obama to "PLEASE Go F*** Yourself."

MUCH more respectful, no?

McCain has proved it. ALL politicains for whom it is only important to win are scumbags!!! I respected MCCain in 2000 as a war hero, straight talker and someone who hads the balls to stand up against the nutty wing nuts of his party. Religious nuts, racist bigots and hate mongers are a plenty in the Republican Party. The Liberals have their nut cases too but most are not shrill and hate filled. They are just too damn tolerant of people.

Translation: "We're desperate enough to try nice, next since nasty got us in trouble."

Problem is, John and Sarah, who's going to BELIEVE you? We've seen your true faces and the enthusiasm you showed last week. Like the stock market damaged George Bush AND McCain, your proto-KKK act blew up in your faces. The damage is done. Smart people aren't going to believe sudden syrupy Sweetness. We've seen real leadership from Obama in a month of crises. To paraphrase Pogo: We have seen the enemy and it is YOU two.

Do you think Barack Obama could walk through a McCain/Palin rally/crowd?

I don't. Their supporters are not a screaming thrall... they are a screaming mob condoled and condoned by McCain and Palin. They are running a sad and archaic campaign indicative of Bloody Sunday -- in America.
