Today, I was in a Costco parking lot, and a woman came up to me and started calling me a domestic terrorist because I had an Obama sticker on my car. She said she had heard Lars Larsen and Fox News reports about how Obama is a secret Muslim. She said I should be ashamed of voting for somebody who hates America. I was pretty rattled because I've never had this happen before. I've heard of it happening. I asked her if she could answer some questions for me about what the McCain-Palin ticket is all about, but she just yelled "Loser, loser" at me. If she had attacked me, would I have the right to sue Sarah Palin and John McCain? Now I have a feeling of what people of color go through. I'm still kind of shaky...

I have 7 Obama stickers on my car. SEVEN. I wish someone WOULD do that to me. If they do, I will be sure to fuss them out and scare the hell out of them (I am a "scary" black person for Obama) and I will chew them out for you!

She heard this information on Fox? I think Faux news and right wing radio is inciting this anger in people. What is really sad is that people believe everythng they hear on Faux news and refuse to think for themselves. This is a simple case of brainwashing.

Emotions are running high on both sides and the losing party is in free fall. Please don't let it rattle you. Stay positive and rise above the devision and anger. Obama has been a great example to all of Americans by doing this himself. As Joe would say "God love him". When the election is over one side or the other will have won and we all have to heal and do what is best for America.
Keep your chin up. America needs you.

Thank you so much. Gosh, there are lots of kind people out there. It restores my faith in humankind. I'm sure lots of people are frustrated about the economy. I think it rattled me because I'm the peacemaker in our family (middle child) and it was so unexpected. I tend to mull things over and over in my mind and say, "How could I have handled this better?" I just don't understand how mean people sleep at night. I'm sure many don't intend to be mean, but it's so pervasive lately, and I've seen it go on and on for a couple of generations in some families. I fear for people who stand up for the right thing. I fear for their lives. It just seems as if the Sarah Palins of the world never have to be accountable, and I don't know why. I'm left to wonder what will happen if McCain loses and returns to the Senate. Will everyone forgive him over and over?

I don't think that there could be anything nice when it comes to Sarah. Nice is not an adjective I would use for her, it is beyond her capacity.

It's still on the table...

Both McCain and Paliln have planted the seeds of racism, bigotry and hatred into their base's mind so now they become the so called nice guys? Give me a break! McCain and Palin are nothing but two hypocrites who deserve each other and their narrow minded lemmings.

Why not combine "nice" with "competent" and "knowledgable"?

Oh, wait. Because then he'd be "Obama".

Uh oh. Kristol is predicting a McCain loss. Given his track record of being consistently wrong on whatever topic he writes, I'm worried.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:00 PM on 10/13/2008

Kristol complains in his propaganda piece I mean editorial today that "the media is liberal" and that's working against McCain. Oh yeah, Bill ? -- like the NYTimes, which has inexplicably given you a soapbox for your insane, ultra-right blathering?

The media has been extraordinarily kind -- stupid, in fact -- towards McCain/Palin, much as they were snowed by Bush until very recently -- and they have been totally played in this last round. Covering the hate-speech as though it were just another run of the mill campaign tactic. Please. I don't know who is more reprehensible, McCain/Palin or the media stooges who give them all the free publicity and legitimize their crap.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:26 PM on 10/13/2008

Kristol can't help himself - he has a big crush on Mooselini. Not a justification for his dribble that passes for an editorial on the NYT but he isn't thinking clearly - all that love sick infatuation!

I think the media is worse then McCain / Palin I exspect stuff like that from them but I exspect the media to be better and they are not , they also play a large part in helping U.S Americans remain ignorant, our country is a joke, the majority of us are uneducated and are easily manipulated because we don't know.

Too little --- too late!

He should have stuck to the issues.

He never should have picked bone-head Palin.

"McCain may be tempted in the last debate to go hard on the attack, but that could end up hurting him more than helping him in this environment," Stephanopoulos said.

He won't attack Oba ma when O is standing in front of him. Too cow ard ly for that. He's not going "nicer" though, you can be sure. The scion of Mississippi slaveholders will continue to race-bait as he continues to lose.

He will really look cowardly after bragging about how he is going to kick Obama's "you know what." Seems like he has kind of boxed himself in (again).

He is not any softer, he is just trying another approach. His ads are just as nasty full of lies.Obama tries to be straight forward addressing the issues about economy, health care, the war making everyone in debt..Iraq puts their money in the banks while we pay for their bridges and road. Palin liies about everything. Obama acts like a president, McCain looks and acts like a weasel. He gives to the very rich and votes against many things for the little guy.

It isn't being nice to Obama that people want. Nobody cares. Just tell us how you're going to get us out of the financial mess we're in. If you don't know how them just SHUT THE HELL UP.

Sorry Mr McCaim but you showed your lack of judgment and integrity already and you cannot pretend you did not.

As for Ms Palin there is nothing really nice about the woman. Her ethics violations, her husband running around the office threatening people all remind us of a Cheney in a dress.

Not a nice group to be associated with.

Sorry Mr McCain you made your bed.
We just want to be free of it

"A nicer campaign against Obama" is a step, but how about a campaign that just focuses on how they are going to deal with the many issues we must face? These people just don't get it!

RATINGS ALERT: Don't believe any of the POLLS - It is that part of SILLY SEASON when they try to dupe the public into once again thinking that the race is close again so that they can continue to reap advertising dollars. It may be time to give MSM a taste of their medicine by turning off the news and reading it instead. That just may teach them that if they refuse to REPORT the truth - we will WRITE IT!

However, we should not become complacent - keep getting out the vote, keep blogging the issues - keep hope alive!
