Obamaosama Sign

Washington Independent:

As Sen. John McCain's motorcade arrived for a rally at Cape Fear Community College, this sign, featuring a photo of Osama bin Laden in between photos of a cigarette-smoking Sen. Barack Obama and Thomas Wright, a former North Carolina state legislator who was convicted of fraud, was on display outside the venue:

As we exited the press bus, a young man wearing an Obama T-shirt took down the sign and laid it face down on the ground. It was among other signs, including one supporting Sen. Elizabeth Dole. I don't know how long the sign was up, but lots of people were standing around, and it didn't appear to be causing any sort of controversy -- at least not enough to cause any McCain supporters to take it down.

John McCain is aiming to achieve a number of things. One of those is to win the next debate, which he desperately needs. The attacks on Obama are an attempt to pierce his armour so that McCain can get him angry on Wednesday. I think this debate is going to be a very special performance as there are not many throws of the dice after this. Hopefully there wont be an actual fight.

I think the pressure is so great on Mac to do well that it's going to be to his detriment. I don't think the guy knows how to truly relax (without medication) and with Obama playing it cool, it just might fluster McCain.

This is shocking. I don't know why I'm shocked but I am. This is so wrong.

Thoroughly disgusting! I hope McCain loses in a landslide defeat. The only place he'll be able to hold his head up after will be in Racialville.

What if McCain and Palin win, after all this racist campaigning?

What will become of our country? All the works that's been done since ending slavery and implementing integration, will have gone down the drain. I've read newspapers in London, and Asia, and they all report on the racist and bigoted nature of McCain's tactics.

McCain thinks he is just hurting his opponent, but he is hurting our country's image. No one will ever want to work with us.

I know. It's almost disorienting to see the evaluation of the race from abroad focusing in on issues that our media intentionally mitigates. They were asking the question about racism as the campaigns kicked off. I'm sure that Bush convinced them that we are stupid. Now McCain is convincing them that we are unscrupulous.
What wonderful footage we provided the world with Palin rallies.A VP candidate suggesting that a sitting Senator is a one man sleeper cell and supporters calling for his death.

Yep, offensive and derogatory. There is absolutely no excuse for the scums that made this scene. Just like there was no excuse for the scum bags that wore the t-shirts that said, "Palin is a C#nt" at an Obama rally. Geeze, this election is sinking to new lows on both sides.

both sides? I dont think so. The McCain Campaign is baiting.
Baiting the american people, baiting the media and trying to bait Obama.
That will not work.

More and more Republicans are leaving the McCain rhetoric in droves because of failed economic policies, failed foreign policies, failed smear campaigns and failing to offer anything new
to pull the country out of this mess, the same mess their failed ambitions put us in.

You cannot solve a problem with the same thinking, the same people and the same policies and behavior that created it.

John McCain cannot even provide a new empty promise.

And where will these idiots be in 8 years after a peaceful, prosperous Obama presidency? Will they step up and admit they were wrong? That they were just fear mongering? Racist? Of course not. They are cowards and villians and bullies. Nothing more.

How sad. It just goes to show does this sign that we haven't come that far since the 1960s when we fought to defeat racism. All three men on the sign are black, and just because Obama is black, in the eyes of the racist Republicans means to say Obama is a terrorist or an Arab. What happened to the Republicans of Abe Lincoln's time? The ones who under his leadership fought to end slavery? He must be spinning in his grave at what his party have become. I on the other hand think this racism coming out of the GOP is totally wrong, racist, and this is backfiring for McCain, thankfully. According to the latest ABC-Wash Post poll, Obama is ahead by 10 points. Brilliant.

I noticed the incident took place in Cape Fear, an appropriate place for a McCain rally usually based on smear and fear.

Obviously the McCain camp loves terrorists. Why else would they be working to improve Osama bin Laden's image by linking him to Obama?

I'm glad the Obama supporter did what he did. Notice one wore his support, one made a sign and walked away.
