PHOTOS: Madonna Premieres "Filth And Wisdom" With Celebrity Friends

Monday Madonna took a night off from her Sticky & Sweet Tour to premiere "Filth and Wisdom," which she directed. Joining her were Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, Brooke Shields, Jessica Alba and Lindsay Lohan. Not there was husband Guy Ritchie, who is currently in London filming the new Sherlock Holmes movie.

The film first premiered in February at the Berlin Film Festival. Here are photos of some of the celebrities who came out to support her Monday night and, perhaps more surprising for such a perfectionist, a close-up of Madonna's upper lip hair.

It's not uncommon for perimenopausal women to acquire more facial hair, and Madonna belongs in that group of women. Menopause is upon her.

I hope she embraces it and rocks it whenever she feels like letting her fuzz grow.

It's high time we stop demonizing women (and men) who for one reason or another sprout hair in weird places and don't run to the salon for a waxing or home to a dark house until their Nair or bleaching application has run its course.

This has always been a natural occurrence for some women. And with all of the crazy plastics and drugs leaching into our water supplies, I can only imagine how many others it will affect - and at younger and younger ages.

We may not all agree with some of the choices she's made or some of the things she's said, but she's an attractive woman who I imagine is always in the process of learning and can still teach this world a thing or two about beauty.
