I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Monday Madonna took a night off from her Sticky & Sweet Tour to premiere "Filth and Wisdom," which she directed. Joining her were Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, Brooke Shields, Jessica Alba and Lindsay Lohan. Not there was husband Guy Ritchie, who is currently in London filming the new Sherlock Holmes movie.

The film first premiered in February at the Berlin Film Festival. Here are photos of some of the celebrities who came out to support her Monday night and, perhaps more surprising for such a perfectionist, a close-up of Madonna's upper lip hair.

How sad that rather than celebrate the fact that women are allowed to have facial hair, the CENSORING, petty-minded, Politically Correct, anal-retentives are howling for the photos to be taken down.

You read the article, you look at the pictures, and then presume to prevent others from doing the same? HA!

HuffPo is not some lame, teenager's blog here, people. There are staff whose job it is to help HuffPo be informative and entertaining. Stop trying to project YOUR petty minded judgements on them, and the rest of us.

More pictures!

Actually I think Madonna is showing solidarity with her daughter Lourdes. I have noticed that she has a mustache and I suspect that Madonna (in light of her style of parenting) has not allowed her to do anything about it yet as she is too young (happened to me). If my suspicions are true than we should be admiring her for thinking of her daughter first and not worrying about what YOU think.

I would far prefer Madonna having a dark moustache to show her daughter that it's okay, rather than her buying Lourdes breast implants or her own tanning bed, or some such idiocy that some mothers do to try and "help" their daughters deny who they really are.

Good job, Madge!

This is supposed to be a liberal site, not a right wing rag like the Daily Mail who posts pictures of imperfections of women. Congratulations, Huffington Post. You have hit an all-time low.

I agree with greenwhichstreet that we should "lay off women for being human, not plastic." But given that Madonna, in every sense of her self, has sought to be so incredibly un-human (50 year old women with man-muscles and wrinkle-free faces do not occur in the wild), the stache is a notable event. Maybe she's taking note of a trend?

I know shame on her! She hasn't become a drug addict, and sought to *gasp* make herself look good as she ages. Wow, what a horrible person!

My mom went to her concert yesteryears - no mistaking - the nose, brows, lips and her cheeks have been reconstructed. Just look at the structures of the nose etc - you can't tell me that her face has not been under the knife, reconstructed, rehabilitated or botoxed to the ummp time. Just compare her pix from yesteryears. Yes, I mean a long long time ago. But, truthfully, it's really none of my business, but making comments and honest observation.

Still, her physicality has evolved - I mean, evolution into something gross - in my opinion.

In fairness, she does have many good qualities - great singer, good mother, and humanitarian, to name a few. humanitarian. I love it that she doesn't care what people say.

C'mon. The woman is 50, not a natural blonde, and as anyone will tell you (even Sarah Palin) you have to have some growth in-between waxes.

Cut her some slack.

Actually... cut all us gals some bleeding slack.

no problem. as soon as women stop giving guys garbage about losing their hair.

the problem here is not a woman with facial hair. it's mother nature. no big deal. she's getting older, and that's what mother nature does. no problem.

madonna, on the other hand, has made a career out of promoting her aesthetics and attacking a lot of people for their looks and the way they live their lives. it makes her an easy target. she set herself so high up that everyone is looking to knock her off the pedestal.

it's kind of stupid all-around, but the media pointing out the physical imperfections of men AND women is beneath human dignity.

but for madonna, the chickens have come home to roost. for all other women- don't change a thing. you're made exactly the way you're supposed to be made.

She has always pointed out HER OWN flaws. Madonna has never claimed to be perfect. In fact, if you knew anything about her, she openly talks about her flaws, insecurities and all. Simply put, this is beneathe HuffingtonPost in ever way.
