PHOTOS: Madonna Premieres "Filth And Wisdom" With Celebrity Friends

Monday Madonna took a night off from her Sticky & Sweet Tour to premiere "Filth and Wisdom," which she directed. Joining her were Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, Brooke Shields, Jessica Alba and Lindsay Lohan. Not there was husband Guy Ritchie, who is currently in London filming the new Sherlock Holmes movie.

The film first premiered in February at the Berlin Film Festival. Here are photos of some of the celebrities who came out to support her Monday night and, perhaps more surprising for such a perfectionist, a close-up of Madonna's upper lip hair.

it's too bad that the natural progression of a woman likely entering (or in the midst of) menopause is mocked through these photos (and even those of Palin on Newsweek). Newsflash is that women also grow hair - in the pits and other unseemly places. I do wonder, though, why she didn't wax or simply have electrolysis since she is in the celebrity culture to prevent embarrassing photos like this.

Madonna is a multi-talent, but she can start to slow down now and use her tremendous talent in another part of the industry. If she chose to initiate a talent, media conglomerate, she would conquer the world. The sooner she gives up the glamour girl, split to the hip, stretched wide open pseudo sex symbol image, the better. It's demeaning at her age and it looks as if she can't or refuses to face the obvious. Madonna, has much more to offer than that.

Madonna's ancestors are from Italy. Hair on the lip is natural for woman of Italian decent. When she was young the hair was there but it was lighter and a little softer. It's no big deal, a lot of people think it's sexy.
