Tina Fey On Sarah Palin: "If She Wins...I'm Leaving Earth"

Tina Fey told TVGuide she'll be "done" if John McCain and Sarah Palin win the election next month.

The "SNL" veteran who has come back to play the Republican Vice Presidential candidate (and whose own show, "30 Rock," is still nowhere to be seen), said, "We're gonna take it week by week. If she wins, I'm done. I can't do that for four years. And by 'I'm done,' I mean I'm leaving Earth."

Fey also said it's a busy but exciting time for "SNL."

"Election time is always good for [SNL] and this is a bonkers election," she said. "And that lady is a media star. She is a fascinating person, she's very likeable. She's fun to play, and the two bits with Amy [Poehler], that was super fun," Fey says.

The difference is we don't "hate" anyone. Not Tina Fey, not Barack Obama, not Joe Biden. We think that Tina Fey sounds ridiculous as do many Hollywood types for saying the stupid, hateful things they continue to say about the right. If you don't like McCain/Palin then give a good argument that clearly states what you don't agree with. Calling Palin an ex-beauty queen or insulting her intelligence is absurd. You don't become governor without being intelligent. The left did the same thing with George Bush. Now, you many not agree with the things he says or does but it doesn't make him "stupid". It's hard to take many Democratic supporters seriously because "hate" is the only thing you seem to hear. Give me a good argument that makes sense and I'll listen. In return, do the same for us.

I don't see what all of the fuss is about. In My Opinion, which I am entitled to, Tina Fey is not really that funny; outside of being able to occasionally read a line on a teleprompter on SNL Weekend Update.

I'm personally tired of hearing how "hollywood" feels about the candidates. I hope I am in the majority when I say that it doesn't mean a hill of beans to me how an "Entertainer" is going to vote. We look to our 'celebrities' to entertain us. If one of them wants to truly make a difference: Run for office and show that you can back up your positions. They who speak out should put their words into actions.

We should all be more concerned about the issues and not the hype. BOTH Candidates need to lay out a solid game plan and show us that they are going to surround themselves with the right people to get this country back on track.

Are you psychic or do you know Gov. Palin? You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but for most people, sowing the seeds of hatred and divisive politics are not the signs of a clean soul. If some demented soul attacks someone she is trashing, how moral is that? No responsibility? Not her brothers keeper? Another example: Gov. Palin has used the abortion issue even in her mayoral race-it is known as a wedge issue and it provokes intense polarization of voters. All the negative issues combined are "win the election strategy", and thus a smoke screen for real issues affecting all Americans. That is what upsets me. Please keep in mind that in the last 50 years there has never been a VP candidate from either party that has not been allowed to hold a press conference, appear on respected programs like Meet the Press, This Week or Face the Nation. Her handlers will only allow her to appear on Fox or other right wing shows ( Hannity and Greta Von Sistern are not a journalist ) I implore you for your own edification to watch again the Couric interview with Palin and you'll see how inept this woman is.
I can understand that she won't be allowed to appear on MSNBC, but how about CNN ?

Tina graduate cum laude from the University of Virginia, one of the nation's best universities. In 4 years, i.e., on time. Sarah did the walk of academic shame across 6 colleges over 5 years.

Tina went on to to join the cast of Second City, Chicago, the nation's best incubators for comic talent, a place that gave the US and the world the humor and talent of Dan Ackroyd, Bill Murray, George Wendt, Steve Carrell, Amy Poehler- and Tina Fey. Their talent is a great American export that puts smiles on the faces of people the world over. Dummies don't last very long at Second City. You have to be whipass smart to put on a killer improv show, which Tina is.

So friends, Ms Fey wins hands down over Ms. Palin in the IQ game.

Ms. Palin to her credit, has raised a lovely family, and I applaud her for her guts to stay close to her beliefs and raise her son Trig. She deserves our respect for that act alone. Whatever people say about Ms. Palin, she appears to be a good mother, albeit one who failed to provide her daughter with the basics of sex ed. While she may be a loving mother and, perhaps, even a somewhat able administrator, she is not Presidential material. Her world view and her knowledge are extremely limited. Accept that fact.

Michael Moore, Sean Penn, and dozens of Hollywood Democrats have promised they would leave if the Republican won. Bush won two elections in a row but we still have those Hollywood celebs here in the US. Typical empty promises from Democrats. They say one thing and do another.

Senator Obama ran his Senate campaign promising tax cuts for the middle class, health care, and invest in our infrastructure. Now four years later not only has he not passed one of those ideas into law, he has not even sponsored a bill to implement them.
