Tina Fey Sarah Palin

Tina Fey told TVGuide she'll be "done" if John McCain and Sarah Palin win the election next month.

The "SNL" veteran who has come back to play the Republican Vice Presidential candidate (and whose own show, "30 Rock," is still nowhere to be seen), said, "We're gonna take it week by week. If she wins, I'm done. I can't do that for four years. And by 'I'm done,' I mean I'm leaving Earth."

Fey also said it's a busy but exciting time for "SNL."

"Election time is always good for [SNL] and this is a bonkers election," she said. "And that lady is a media star. She is a fascinating person, she's very likeable. She's fun to play, and the two bits with Amy [Poehler], that was super fun," Fey says.

For the full story, pick up the October 20th issue of TV Guide, plus the following week's issue (October 27th) featuring TV Guide's cover story on 30 Rock's Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin.

Tina, why don't you leave now. What have you done in your lifetime for the USA compared to what Sarah Palin has done. Go live somewhere else - in a socialistic society - try it now before you vote for B.O.

Sarah AIP Palin has done nothing for the US except lower the standard of political discourse and
raise the spectre of mass violence and hatred. She is an abomination!

The Republican rallies strike an eerie resemblance to the mob scene from Frankenstein. "Kill the monster!" "Die, Socialist, Die!" All led by Palin's and McCain's deliberate attempts to appeal to the most base of human fear mongering. That's not leadership - there's no dignity there. There's no love of country there. There's no "people first" there. They're running scared and they ACT like they're running scared. Next they'll pass out torches to every ignorant grannie who couldn't even tell you what a Muslim is - some body in WalMart just told her they were bad - so she can bring all her other base - ignorant friends to storm the Democratic 'castle" and kill the "monster."

Please keep in mind that in the last 50 years there has never been a VP candidate from either party that has not been allowed to hold a press conference, appear on respected programs like Meet the Press, This Week or Face the Nation. Her handlers will only allow her to appear on Fox or other right wing shows ( Hannity and Greta Von Sistern are not a journalist ) I implore you for your own edification to watch again the Couric interview with Palin and you'll see how inept this woman is.
I can understand that she won't be allowed to appear on MSNBC, but how about CNN ?
I don't care what party you support....the fact that she has to be protected from the general press speaks volumes about her competence. This is serious stuff and if Obama picked someone like her, I would vote for McCain.

Why is it that when Republicans don't agree with something, it's always the "Socialist" label? You don't have any better arguement, so you bring out the "S" word.
Speaking of socialism..... if you drive on a road that is not a toll road, that is socialist. I suppose you could be charged every time you drive on a road. Would you like that?
If you have police out to investigate something that happened at your house, or a car wreck, etc, that is socialism. I suppose they could charge you to investigate; would you feel better?
If you have a fire at your house and firemen come to put it out, that is socialist. I guess you want them to charge you for it. Better still, make you pay BEFORE they put it out.
If you send your children to public school, or if you attended public school yourself, that is socialism. I guess you could pay back (at typical private school prices) for all the education that you and your children received. Then you wouldn't be a socialist.
In case you are too stupid to figure out my point, it is this: We have many socialist practices already in the US. No, I am NOT advocating total Socialism. But, for the common good, some of it is necessary and desired.
When you call Obama a Socialist, I don't even think you know what one is!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:32 PM on 10/14/2008

You have articulated something, Gingersp, that has frustrated me for so long. All of a sudden, government intervention is socialist and for some desperados, MARXIST!

Sorry, what era am I in? McCarthy's???

We certainly do have socialist practices and policies. And, by the way, what about the government bail-out of the banks? What do you Republicans think that is? Government intervention = socialism???

Welcome to the modern day, you guys are so far behind.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:34 AM on 10/17/2008

One of the key tenets of socialism, something that nothing to do with the examples that you cited, is an egalitarian society. The examples you cited are the core functions of government that do not go to control the means of production or redistribute wealth. They are the basic function of government that create an infrastructure upon society can operate. The simple that a government exists and provides some basic services does not imply socialism. If that were the case, ALL government would be socialistic and this is nonsensical.

Why do I say Obama has socialist tendencies? Easy. He told me so himself. He told Joe the Plumber, point blank, that his taxes would go up to that we could share the wealth. That is a facet of an egalitarian society. "From each according to his means, to each according to his needs." That is basically what Obama just told Joe and that is socialistic. Now, if you favor those types of policies, that is your privilege, but let's be honest about what it is.

Every post with a celebrity in it gets the same kinds of comments... Who cares what they think, who do they think they are, they're so stupid and conceited, etc.

Here's reality. Celebrities don't call the media and ask for their opinions to be published... The media seeks them out, becasue celebrity features make money. They make money not only from people who like celebrities, but from people who love complaining about celebrities, like in these comments. Stop clicking on these stories, and they'll go away. It's capitalism in action.

I work in the entertainment industry, and almost every famous person I've met with has been kind, smart, and modest - very much aware that their opinion is worth no more than anyone else's. The reality of who these people are vs. what you see in the media are totally different. And of course no one thinks about the vast majority who keep their mouths shut.

I have more respect for people who speak their mind in the face of massive criticism than those who get their kicks by anonymously insulting strangers who have no opportunity to respond.

I think it might be fairer to say that most of the ones who pose and mouth off in the media every day are morons. Most celebrities are quite smart, and keep largely to themselves.

What cracks me up is all the Repubs whose panties are all in a bunch over Fey's comment, even though she was clearly being hyperbolic (Republicans - that means she was using speech to exaggerate), and quite possibly mocking her own co-star Alec Baldwin in the process. Oh and she was also showing that she's smarter than, as of now, the 42% of the country that's voting for McCain. Face it - Tina Fey is beautiful and brainy, making her at least twice as good as Sarah Palin.

Tina Fey highlights the idiocy of Palin, and the bad judgment McCain has made in selecting the bimbo! Remember that McCain has been insinuating that he is the “Mr. Good Judgment”, and that Obama lacks the experience, or the required qualification, for the office he is seeking.
In a hilarious way, Fey is introducing us to this unstable and erratic man, by illustrating how unqualified Palin is, to say the least, and what a misjudgment McCain has made, again to say the least.

Proud Independent voter, donating to, and voting for "that-one"!

Yep, good bye Tina --- go back to your home planet. Who cares about celebrities anyway? I am tired of overindulged, self-righteous, narcissistic adult babies from LaLa Land and the entertainment industry as a whole thinking that the rest of us really care what they think. They wouldn't know reality if it bit them on the butt. In all fairness, there are some very intelligent, thoughtful, reasonable people in the entertainment industry who really do have something to say, but they are all so laughable when they say it with such gravitas as if they really matter to the rest of us.

Goodness.

You clicked on the link, didn't you? Celebrities don't call websites and magazines and say 'I have an opinion! Publish it!' The media goes to them - because features like these make money for the media. When the public stops responding to them, they'll disappear. So be the change you want to see, and stop clicking on celebrity stories.

I work in the entertainment industry, and the VAST majority of the people I work with are very intelligent, and well aware that their opinion doesn't matter any more than anyone else's. What you don't see are all the celebrities who choose to keep their mouths shut because they know speaking up does as much harm as good.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:56 PM on 10/14/2008

Hey you last two hicks! Here's a little Media 101: Celebrities don't say anything with "gravitas". The media goes to THEM for their opinions because they know it will sell magazines or increase their audience share on TV. Hey Missouri, you come from the "Show Me State".... how about showin' me some brains? Who cares what Tina Fey thinks? Oh, about 20 million people. Who cares what you think? 1... yourself! You're the only one with "below average intelligence". Tina Fey would fry you if she chose to give you the time of day.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:32 PM on 10/14/2008

Just as I have come to expect, I disaggree with a democrat and soon my character and intelligence is under fire. All I read about is how republicans are inciting hate and fear, and then I get a response like the above. That is hypocrisy defined.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:25 PM on 10/14/2008

I'll cite your post when explaining to people why the new movie "An American Carol" is beyond stupid. Not only is it not funny, but celebrities are dolts!

Seriously. "Most of them are below average intelligence." I assume a genius like yourself has some sort of data to back up such a statement...Not that it would really matter, since Fey is clearly smarter than both your typical celebrity and your typical Republican Vice Presidential nominee.

Remember, Tina Fey was a successful comedic writer long before she appeared in front of the camera. She has more brains in her left ovary than the entire Republican ticket has on its best day.

If the republicans win, Tina Fey would have the ability to make a lot of money reprising her role as Sarah Palin time and time again but her soul says for the sake of our country the democrats must win this election. Tina is having a good time, making some money and increasing her celebrity but there are some real problems occurring right now in this country and the world and I think she wants to make the statement that though it would be great for her career for them to win, morally she needed to speak out and support Obama. The republicans will use this to show bias with SNL but thats typical especially since they are desperate for anything to run with.
